As a big fan of sports, and America, and Jon Hamm, I still found this incredibly boring! Let's go to a country that plays cricket to find people to earn millions of dollars to play a much, much less interesting sport - the concept alone didn't sit right with me!
The script and the performances were all so saccharin and condescending to Indians. Absolutely nothing stood out about it. Slumdog Millionaire meets Moneyball but without the script which made the latter so good. Very predictable and the constant setbacks for the Indian pitchers who just couldn't quite show what they were capable of over and over again until the inevitable happy finale...yawn. That sequence quite early on during the first set of trials where for about 10 minutes we watch trialist pitchers throw pitches "74 mph, that's decent", "54 mph, oh dear!", "65 mph, ok", "78 mph, that's good" - who writes and edits this crap? So boring. The tension was non existent, not to mention that there's obviously a lot more to pitching than speed and area.

And the man next to Beate was absolutely vile. How dare he speak that way, it was appalling. Came close to ruining the film but it wasn't good enough to be ruined. Utter scum.

I saw this in a fairly quiet Glasgow tonight. I thought it was an ok wee film but nothing special. I did find it a trifle long and would have happily seen 30 minutes shaved off it. It certainly is the kind of film you could watch in anyone's company as there's nothing to offend in it but I was a little bored at times. I know that it is based on a true story which always adds something to a film particularly when the credits reveal the "what happened next" . . .

It had a few nice moments but was too long and some parts were a bit dull. Jon Hamm didn't bring much to the role and the East meets West culture clash is a cheap way to provide laughs. 6/10.

Lovely, feelgood, heartwarming true story, Disney style so quite predictable.

A bit boring mid-way, but an enjoyable watch, and more interesting is the end credits where you saw photos of the real people and learn what happened to them. 7/10

Interesting, Million Dollar Arm is the name of the reality TV show too, which started seven years ago and is now on its third season.

Far too long..... that being said, it was a good movie and I really quite enjoyed it. I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it so much if it hadn't been a true story as it would almost be a bit "unbelievable" if it weren't true! The acting left a bit to be desired by most of the cast, but overall a decent watch and wait for the credits to roll to see the real life updates.

6.5/10

Thought that this was a great feel-good film. I got two free tickets for a preview with the Daily Telegraph and I took my son along who is 34. I thought he only came along to keep me company and for a beer and a bite to eat afterwards but even he thoroughly enjoyed it.
Well worth seeing.

Saw this recently in Edinburgh and as a great fan of Slumdog Millionaire I was looking forward to the feel good factor that film gives me.....and I was not disappointed. It was an easy film to watch and the fact that it was based on a true story made it all the more enjoyable. All the actors were convincing and it was great to read the end credits updating us with ' Where are they now'. Definitely recommend.

Another film that I was expecting to be a bit of drag but ended up surprising me in a positive way.

Sure the India we're shown here is significantly different to the one that appears in the likes of 'Slumdog Millionaire' but as it's a Disney Studios production that was to be expected. It certainly didn't get in the way of me being able to care about the characters consequently I was emotionally invested in the outcomes of their respective journeys.

Overall it's a very uplifting drama that didn't outstay it's welcome time wise so it gets an 8/10 from me...

I saw this today, and thought it as a heart warming tale, based on a true story. I loved the light bulb moment when the agent was watching a certain episode of the X Factor - made me chuckle. The film could have been a bit shorter and I felt it dragged in places, but overall, a decent film and well worth going to see. 7/10 from me.

I watched on the plane and thought it was ok, not quite as good as Jerry McGuire but watchable. 7/10.
