Well I got interrogated by the guy next to me about how often I read The Times! He also followed my friend into the gents and while in there asked him as well, telling him that the screening was for Times readers only and saying that he was going to write to The Times about us!

We hadn't talked about anything related to this, so he must think he can tell Times readers by sight. Perhaps we didn't look affluent enough!

surely a compliment, Clive, if you don't have the look.

I wasn't expecting a slow burner so I was a bit hard put tbh but it was absorbing enough once you get in the right mood for it. Trouble is, it took so long to get in that mood that you miss half the plot!
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

Thought this was good rather than great, it had decent performances from it's cast plus an intriguing story however the ending needed to be stronger & far less abrupt.

Overall it did enough to get a 7/10 from me...

Enjoyed this, but perhaps not as good as I was hoping for. Pace was quite leaden and Hoffman's performance at times went mighty close to OTT ham. Disappointing, but good none the less.

I loved it! But then I'm a Le Carre fan and like plots that stroll along instead of race along. I like the intrigues and the deceits and how it all unfolds...My kind of film!

Perhaps you looked like a Telegraph reader instead! or maybe the FT .

Or maybe you didn't have the body odour of a Times reader.
