Gone Girl

#1 Post by Yinster » Mon Sep 29, 2014 9:54 pm

Back from Vue Glasgow. Please merge if there is another thread that I couldn't see

Personally I enjoyed this film even though it was a tad long though it held my attention. Cleverly done from seeing both sides yet I kinda of knew what happened to Amy. Not sure about the ending as the lights came on suddenly just before the film finish so kinda of spoil it.

7/10

Preference of cinemas:- 1. Glasgow Renfield Street Cineworld, 2. Glasgow Showcase, 3. Braehead Odeon, 4. Vue Fort, 5 Glasgow Springfield Quay, 5. any other cinema in Glasgow area including Hamilton
Also Falkirk, Dunfermline and Stirling but these are rarely used for free previews.

Edinburgh was full.
Really enjoyed this although Ben Affleck was looking rather triangle shaped presumably for bring Batman?!
It was clever and the reveals were subtly done. Few glaring gaps that just didn't ring true but overall it kept my bum firmly glued to the seat.

9/10 from me and best thing I have seen in a while.

An enjoyable film although rather long. Liked the twists in the story but a bit disappointed in the ending. 8/10

Rather good, but seemed to last as long as the timeline that announced the passage of days on the screen. It is huuuuuuge. That said it held my attention throughout and I loved the various twists. Much preferred Rosamund Pike in this than her previous film, although Neil Patrick Howser didn't really ring true. Loved the termination of his final scene! Ewwww.

A good healthy 9/10 after a veritable dearth of anything good recently.

A very full Edinburgh tonight. I'm guessing The Judge was a more empty affair? ThAnks to Biggins for the offer of her lap tonight. Unfortunately I found a seat nearer the front.
