Legend
Just back from seeing Tom Hardy in Legend...half way through the film I thought to myself I am watching something special with this film. Tom Hardy's performances were absolutely magnificant. If he doesn't get a BAFTA or Oscar nomination for Legend I will be very surprised.
Best film I have seen all year.

Re: LEGEND TOM HARDY
Decent film , brilliant actiing
Re: Legend
Very good. However, the movies title is somewhat out of place with the content & the low budget of this production shone through at times, period movies ain't cheap, but this seemed cheap at times.

Re: Legend
Thought this was a good movie but I did feel they downplayed some of the less endearing characteristics of the twins. It was nice touch that the film made mention of Ronnie's homosexuality (something that was totally left out of the kemp brothers film about the Krays).
Tom Hardy is outstanding in both roles.

Re: Legend
Saw this in a busy Braehead though a number of folk were allowed in late as there had been a major tailback on the motorway. I enjoyed the film but I do think it was a very sanitized version of their lives. I had expected it to be a much darker film. I have only just realised that Tom Hardy played both parts of Reggie and Ronnie and can't believe I didn't see it during the film. He was excellent playing Reggie but was even better playing the menacing Ronnie. The other cast members also acted well.

Re: Legend
Not true. That film doesn't hide Ronnie's homosexuality at all. Gary Love played Ronnie's boyfriend and the two are shown in bed together at one point. It was even scripted by a gay writer.vealster wrote: It was nice touch that the film made mention of Ronnie's homosexuality (something that was totally left out of the kemp brothers film about the Krays)

Re: Legend
Tom Hardy was phenomenal in this. Amazing he did both twins and so successfully.
Yes, this was the sanitised version of the Krays but interesting to see behind the legend. That gave a different perspective of the story I know which has indeed become a legend in the same way as Robin Hood of a different era. Not sure Disney will ever make The Krays though?
It is amazing how London has changed in 50 years, but gangsters and gangs and criminal gangs are still there, they just evolve.
The police didn't come out of the film in a very good light.
9/10 for Tom.

Re: Legend
Totally agree with everyone else about Tom, he was spectacular. I was a little annoyed that Ronnie's homosexuality seemed to be played for laughs in certain parts but maybe I'm being too fussy cause other than that, I really enjoyed it. Been waiting for one of those "good films" for a long time and this filled that hole perfectly. I thought Emily Browning was really good too.

Re: Legend
Apologies I have to admit I've never seen the whole film the Krays but I thought I remembered the Kemp twins on tv saying their film didn't delve into this because they felt it was distracting. But like I say I got it wrong.kevinknapman wrote:Not true. That film doesn't hide Ronnie's homosexuality at all.
