A 2kg loss is a really impressive and significant start to your "lose a stone by Christmas" plan. You sound so positive and determined, I can't see you letting anything stand in your way. It's nice to hear your enthusiasm for cooking in your new kitchen, too. That's really bound to help stay on track with the healthy eating.
I've spent the weekend away linking up with DD1 at her uni, and then all of us Prestons travelling to drop DD2 at her uni. It was a majorly overindulgent weekend of multiple meals out. The pinnacle of my badness came on Saturday morning with an veritable orgy of gluttony at the "help yourself, all you can eat, go back again, don't be embarrassed - have some more, buffet style, full English cooked breakfast pig-out".
I may have turned the odd head or two with my portion size on the way back to my table. When I went back for my second plateful some people actually really did do a kind of second take. I really love hotel breakfasts and have them so rarely these days. I think that they are the only thing I miss about not working any more. In my defence, I did go to the gym and also had a swim, sauna, steam before breakfast. I also made do with a cup of tea for lunch and a long walk around the Yorkshire Sculpture Park to try and limit the damage.
Imagine my surprise and pleasure therefore to be able to report another 2 pound loss this week. I can hardly believe it! It all seems to be going too well.
Am I the only person on this thread not to know the back story to Diane's visit to the House of Lords?
I've even tried Googling key words to see if there were any snippets about her visit on the internet but I've not come up with anything.
EJ has intimated that Diane has done something very impressive which she has been honored for - but it's infuriating not to know exactly what this is. There's little point in me asking Diane directly, as I know she will only tell me half a played down story, due to her modesty.
As such, I'm appealing to members of the wider group for full information to be sent to me asap by pms. Rest assured, I promise not to disclose my sources, and will treat anything I am told in the strictest confidence.
Turning now to the lady herself.....I can tell from Diane's recent "healthy food" posts that she is now fully engaged and committed to the diet thing. I knew that she would get back in the zone, and hit her stride with a vengeance once again. I'm confidently predicting at least a 3 pounds loss for her next weigh-day. .......
Just about to have Porridge, skimmed milk and dollop of Diane's scrummy homemade plum jam for a late Breakfast, before hitting the gym this afternoon.
Be good everyone! (....and don't forget the pms
