Re: LOGAN
A meditation on old-age and mortality that just happens to be a "superhero" film (- oh, and a road movie too).
Ran, Last Orders, The Unforgiven, to name but a few, all came to mind as we watched.
The performances of all three leads are superb - especially Dafne Keen, considering her inexperience.
Would defintely go to see again.
In many ways, it will probably not get the plaudits it deserves, simply because it is a "Marvel-verse" movie.

Re: LOGAN
I saw this and thought it was indeed a meditation on failure of a legend and the attempt to live up to that reputation etc. Interestingly enough the guy in my comic shop in Brighton was quite harsh on it.. seeing it as a throwback to 90's movies etc.
Glad i've seen it.. not sure i would see it again..

Re: LOGAN
Great great great. Big thanks to Deadpool for opening the door to R-rated superhero films. Logan really takes the bull by the horns early on and I was thrilled throughout.
Like X-men meets The Last of Us with a bit Lord of the Flies, this film ticked all the boxes for me. Film of the year so far.. 9/10

Re: LOGAN
i'd glad I saw it again, I dropped off first time due to taking an overnight coach night before, and slept through nearly 45 minutes - which proved excellent on 2nd viewing.fanADE wrote:I saw this and thought it was indeed a meditation on failure of a legend and the attempt to live up to that reputation etc. Interestingly enough the guy in my comic shop in Brighton was quite harsh on it.. seeing it as a throwback to 90's movies etc.

Re: LOGAN
Loved it. Again I knew a little from hearing some spoilers on Graham Norton, but this really didn't retract from an amazingly good X-film.
Spent the whole film trying to place the actor playing the head of the Reavers. My guesses ranged from Aaron Paul to Johnny Depp! Yes, really - I do struggle with facial recognition. This from me who mistook Kevin Costner for Thomas Hanks a few weeks ago. Lol.

Pity I didn't read the no end credits scene bit above before I sat waiting for it. Doh!

Re: LOGAN
This would have been a great movie even without the superhero attributes. I can picture it in my head, a story driven road trip story across the country. Made me want a Last of Us film badly!
I hope Hollywood doesn't rush out dozens of 15 rated films after this trying to cash in. Logan works because its just dam good!

Re: LOGAN
I loved this film. Action from the start to the end. Even my very particular OH gave it 8.5/10.
I'm looking forward to watching it again.
