I also enjoyed this very watchable film, with the customary very British villain.

I agree the plot wasn't original and I was prepared for this, however, the main leads lifted the film immensely. In particular the pithy dialogue between Chris Evans and Lindsay Duncan added some fun and Mckenna Grace's performance was impressive for one so young 7/10

Gifted - 13th Tuesday June, need clarifiying

#13 Post by wonderfullywackywebster » Tue Jun 06, 2017 5:02 pm

Hi,
I just booked two tickets for Gifted for Tuesday 13th June. This was through showfilmfirst. However, when I read the ticket it said 'a copy of the page in Heat magazine is requires to validate ticket', will I still be able to go without the page in the magazine?

I've not been asked for a magazine page since Les Miserables!

I felt this film was a small part of good will hunting, one intelligent person just wanted to stay a normal life.

I really enjoyed this, more than everyone it seems. the little girl actor was excellent, as was Chris Evans and all the cast. Found the main female actor reminded me a lot of baby from dirty dancing for some reason.

Heartwarming and moving, how do you find the right balance for a gifted child. Really enjoyed this, a good story, beautifully filmed and so well cast too. McKenna Grace is perfect, sweet, brilliant and very convincing. Chris Evans, is great as the conflicted uncle. Lindsay Duncan has a great scene in the court room. Jenny Slate is the lovely first grade teacher. All a joy to watch.

I love the sunset scene between the uncle and the niece. Beautiful and great chemistry.

A brilliant family film, with drama, humour and some romance.

On the way out, a little girl did several cartwheels across the front of the screen, she obviously enjoyed the film! Perhaps, she is gifted too. She was so happy. I clapped when she finished :-)

8/10 from both me and my OH (which is praise from him, as he is not often that generous!)

I loved this film and so did my friends who came with me though most agreed that they wouldn't like to have had a genius child. The acting of the wee girl was excellent and there was real chemistry between her and her uncle and also with her neighbour. As a retired Maths teacher I also enjoyed seeing the problems which the wee girl tackled!
I will highly recommend Gifted to many people that I know. Marks 9/10
Preferred cinemas: Best: Glasgow Quay, Glasgow Braehead, Glasgow Renfield Street, Glasgow Fort & Paisley
Others I'd go to: Glasgow Showcase Baillieston

I agree, I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. My friend and I said it was much better than expected. The trailer doesn't really do it justice!
