Baby Driver
Latest odeon screen unseen showing and a cracker. Baby Driver was a real treat. Excellent car scenes and full of action, albeit a bit ott and silly at times but so slick that its instantly forgiven. The soundtrack spot on too and driving all of the action. Sure anyone going to the SFF screening on Wed won't be disappointed. 9/10

The film was alright. Not as cliche as I was expecting and I had a few good laughs. Amazing soundtrack. 7/10

I wasn't a huge fan of Scott Pilgrim or Worlds End so was a bit unsure before it started, but loved every minute of it.
Thanks again to suel3288 and Steve for the tickets 9/10

Re: Baby Driver
Ace! Enjoyed this thoroughly. Title suggests something lame like Kindergarten Cop - a stupid comedy involving kids somewhere along the line. This turns out to be far more like Drive. Our cinema was even playing the Drive soundtrack prior to film starting.
Loved the soundtrack to this though although it could also have worked with a Drive type soundtrack (although that is in a class of its own).
The foetus that takes the lead role can certainly drive, but comes across pretty wooden. His acting was much better in The Fault in Our Stars. Kevin Spaced is just - well - Kevin Spacey.

Just come back from seeing this. Am a big fan of Edgar Wright movies so had high hopes. Film was great with a fantastic soundtrack that he matched up to the action. Recommended. 9/10

Re: Baby Driver
Friend and I were first to arrive at the Cameo in Edinburgh. Told by young guy on the door that screen one was empty but wouldn't be allowed in until just a few minutes before as we would just be sitting in there for too long and there was twenty minutes of trailers at 6.30 before the film started.
Chatted to the couple behind us and discovered it was Abarthman and his other half. Nice to have met them.
As we waited a long queue formed so a female took our tickets and let us in long before 6.30 and no trailers either!!
Baby driver sunglasses on each seat when we went in.
Enjoyed the soundtrack and the fast action.

Re: Baby Driver
I didna really get it. Edgar Wright usually creates complete movie worlds with their own internal logic, I wasn't sure what we were supposed to think here.
Does tinnitus make you a good driver? Was he supposed to be cool or was that all a reference to 'Driver' being cool, they were already promoting the jacket. Was the waitress a wafer thin female character or a reference to these kind of movies having those kind of characters.
*I think I realised what the problem was, the driver was just too old. Imagine if it was a Tom Holland type who could genuinely play boyish. All the street cool stuff and living situation would make more sense if he was a bit more immature. The relationship could still work if they cast younger there too or even older and that would all play more like a fantasy*

Re: Baby Driver
a kind of fast n furious movie, but for babies.
bit overlong in the final showdown.
Th premiere was on down the road so it felt like going to the premiere if you arrived early and watched the arrival of the profusely sweating actors with inane forced smiles.
4 stars.

Re: Baby Driver
Saw that in Greenwich last night.
The soundtrack is faultless. Kevin Spacey brilliant as always.
The storyline wasn't as cliched as I was expecting however for me the movie was about half an hour too long.
The first 90 minutes would have made a very good movie. After that it all went pear shaped and just too far.
I don't want to get into details as not to spoil the movie for people who haven't seen it yet but let's say that after the last heist Jon Hamm had too much screen time.
So for me a good movie that good have been better with the right editing.

Re: Baby Driver
I really enjoyed this film. There was certainly lots of action and a clear story line. I wasn't sure what was going to happen so was absorbed trying to figure it out. The acting was good, love Kevin Spacey in this. 7/10
I saw this at Picture house Crouch End so lovely venue. There was loads of legroom so felt quite luxurious. Apparently started 15 minutes late because people were running late!
