Elementary Catchup S1-3 - this fastfood version of Holmes is really yet another USA detective show, its the Miller, Lu and Ifans that offer something different to previous incarnations. With mixed results, for instance Adler becomes something less in this, whilst Moriarty becomes more. Holmes is less of a fantasy character but more rambunctious, with Mycroft contrasting completely. Watson acts as the fulcrum between them. Its certainly a good watch.

Hannibal - the long drawn out face-off between Will Graham and Hannibal is detailed here, dressed up in graphic horror imagery. Takes itself a bit seriously I'm afraid, I'm surprised no one has parodied this yet.

I've given up on the West Wing as everytime they mention the President, the mysterious fact that Trump is in power completely devalues any urgency or respect you have for the role (which goes for any show that mentions the President too...like any show where baddies want to kill the President (good luck, I am inclined to say) or Agents of Shield "the president is awaiting your call, Agent Coulson" well let him wait, noone cares what he thinks.... or Arrow ("the aliens just kidnapped the President!" so, how do we get the Aliens to keep him?) etc.

In the line of duty... I'm sure there's still another 'H' to come!

I'm currently catching up on Sense 8 season 2 and I'm absolutely loving it. I'm also trying to watch El Chapo too which is a new Netflix original and it's really great and tests my Spanish :).

Finished Riviera last week which was pretty good 7.5/10. Plush setting for a dysfunctional family plot.

Victoria. I'm not Royalist at all but this is shot exquisitely. The CGI 19th century pre-automobile London scenes are a marvel. Apart from that gorgeous Gemma-Doctor who girl being shockingly miscast for the real life murderous inbred umpa lumpa Alexandrina, this is a case for a show being so well put together that its lead casting is really not important.

Contrasts perfectly with the appalling Elizabeth I in fact. An appalling show, compounded by casting a someone not only miscast but hopelessly at sea in the lead.

So after going to Dubrovnik, OH and I are watching Games of Throne. Just finished season 5 so one more before it starts again this Sunday. OH loves it whilst I think it is good but not brilliant. Though I do prefer it to Outlander. Watched the first two episodes on More4 and thought it was cheesy (and not in a good way) and cringeworthy.
