I concur-I saw an American in Paris and was VERY let down. I cannot understand the glowing reviews!

anyone going to Countryfile live, its well worth it for the free tickets. Its jam packed, a kind of Lambeth Country Show plus chips. Certainly the kids will like it, its one of those hazy event they will remember fondly in the future.

At £18 a ticket I am not sure how they finance it inside the Blenheim Palace grounds though.

Bit of a trek getting there and the event needs better signposting outside the show, mind you. That and the fact they dont let you see any part of Bleheim Palace with the ticket is a bit of a downer, considering you traveled a long way to get there.

China Goes Pop at Edinburgh Festival. Cirque de Soleil via Chinese acrobatics via 80s pop music score. Thus was colourful, skilled and entertaining. Not my usual cup of tea and I'd never have chosen it but I did actually enjoy it, and it was obvious that the entertainers dud too. One for the whole family.

Really enjoyed China Goes Pop. Very entertaining and colourful!

From one extreme to the other....

Trainspotting live....almost never got in to see this, there was an email sent out after 4pm(too late for me to see) saying our ticket had been cancelled! Were told we could hang around and wait for spaces. So we did and eventually got in!
My mum has now been to a rave and owns a glow bangle lol... it starts off with the cast in a club, raving, which the audience becomes part of as we're led to our seats. One of those moments I'm thinking 'what the hell have I gotten us into now!' Lol we both really enjoyed it though! Inyourface theatre really does mean in your face! Not for the squeamish or fainthearted!! The cast got a standing ovation! Bravo :T
Preferred cinemas: Any in Edinburgh!

I went to see Dad's Army (courtesy of Biggins since I was excluded from SFFs invitation) and it was great. 2 episodes of Dad's Army played by only two actors in the form of a radio show recording. Very well done indeed. This was the only one of the three offered shows that was still available and it was only half full.
Worth catching if in Edinburgh.

Totally agree about China Goes Pop. It was a full on performance and plaudits to the performers, what a multi-skilled bunch. Really entertaining.

Trainspotting was also good although my wife had the misfortune to nip to the loo about 2/3 of the way through and wasnt allowed back in. Suppose it could be expected with the close proximity of the stage and actors. Glad I wasnt sitting anywhere near the toilet though, feel a bit sorry for the people all dressed for a night out..!

Hope you didn't get soaked! Some of the people sitting by it looked absolutely mortified.

Only slightly. But needless to say it was far more harmless than what it was supposed to be coming out of there.

Has anybody seen King Kong at the Vaults Theatre? I've snagged a SFF for a ticket on Wednesday but there aren't alot of reviews about.
