Hey this film is funny, and the references to 50 Shades are thankfully minimal, none of these girls would need to read that rubbish really. I dont know their names except for Diana Abbott or is it Keaton from the woody allen films, who was basically playing the flapping, dizzy character from those movies again, but much older. I wonder if shes a "flapping dizzy character" in real life. The others I will refer to as Gloria Hunniford, Mrs Doc Brown and Mrs ObviouslyFake Sharon Osbourne, but they all worked well together and had wonderful individual comic moments too in their romantic pursuits even if it felt the guys came along a bit too easily. Mrs Doc Brown looks actually a bit young for the role, I do believe shes not actually ageing like shes a secret immortal elf or shes chinese or something. On that note, I actually thought Richard Dreyfuss was dead so that was a bit freaky for me seeing him turn up.

C’mon raj you don’t know the names!!! You’re just saying that to make out you’re young!!!

I watched the trailer before I went and thought it was funny, but was worried the whole thing wouldn’t be so, but it was.

8/10 from me!

Saw this last week at the Woman & Home special screening at Ham Yard Hotel with a panel discussion of Woman & Home journalists beforehand.

Starring legends. Jane Fonda, Diane Keaton, Mary Steenburgen, Candice Bergen, Don Johnson, Andy Garcia. Would have liked more of Candice Bergen and Richard Dreyfuss though, best scenes and storyline with Candice, and how lucky, lucky is Diane Keaton with Andy Garcia! So lucky!
Mary Steenburgen does a Kate Bush, dancing on the stage.

Funny and sweet, with some laugh out loud moments, and great chemistry between the characters, however, let down by too cliched and formulaic script, and sentimentality towards the end.

And really, the fact that a woman needs a man in her life to have full happiness (hmmm...)
and a big plug for Fifty Shades, with a cameo from the author herself! 7/10

Disappointed with this. Hoped it would not simply be a vehicle for older actors...but it was. Very cliched and sickly saccharine, particularly the closing scenes. I was amazed it was rated a 12a film. Really? 50 Shades of Grey? Erectile disfunction? Viagra overdose causing painful and highly visible erection? Masturbation? Etc etc. There were young children in our screening who were clearly bored, uninterested and badly behaved. Not bad children, just bad parents. When we confronted them we were told to get a life. It’s half term so the rest of us have to put up with it. Very sad.

Not as funny as expected. Some laughs but pretty mediocre. Diane Keaton was the frumpiest of them all yet she gets Andy Garcia! Who would lie on a float in a swimming pool with a big toweling dressing gown on??
Candice Bergen stole it for me with her scenes. 6/10

Saw this yesterday at Wimbledon Odeon. I must admit that I was disappointed, having seen some pre-release blurb saying it was the best comedy of 2018. I found the ploy contrived, the script unnatural and the acting hammy - even though there were some big names involved (a very over-botoxed Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, Diane Keaton, Don Johnson, Richard Dreyfus etc). There were a couple of genuine laughs but I mainly felt a bit embarrassed for the actors – maybe they need the money. It’s one of those films that should have gone straight to DVD/Netflix. Very average 5/10

OMG how boring was this film!!!!
It felt like a TV film. It would be ok for a night in front of the TV but not a cinema film.
I didn't find it funny!!!!

I had been watching the adverts for this film for months and had high hopes. The subject matter is right up my street and I am a massive fan of the entire cast.

And I certainly was not disappointed!

Laughing out loud throughout this modern tale of dating for the more mature woman. The story of each for the four women's love life was told touchingly, realistically and with humour. The way the four woman were connected brought the four stories together beautifully, and with a saucy theme.

Although the cinema was full of nearly all women, I believe this film can be enjoyed by all ages and genders.

I will definitely be b*ying the DVD!
