I thought it was a bit lame and didn't really go anywhere, with a stupid little epilogue simply to prepare for Part 3. I was disappointed.

Cineworld Unlimited is cheating! ;-)

I have not seen Sicario 1 so I felt I was at a distinct disadvantage even though 2 was marketed as standalone. Decent film with some good action sequences, let down somewhat by far fetched plot development two thirds of the way through and silly ending. Del Toro carries the whole film and lack of female characters is problematic. Macho posturing becomes tiring. Solid 7.5.

Had the fortune to catch a distributors premiere of this a couple months back, screened at the Leicester Square Cineworld in the enormous screen which really added to the action and sound design was shown off really well. I liked it all in all. Similar to above comments, what was great about the first one, Emily Blunt gave it balance. It was a bit too 'blokey' – guys with guns shooting stuff, but then as I say the action was great, an awesome scene of Del Toro emptying a magazine stuck with me, they've used it as marketing fodder – which I guess I understand, its pretty catchy in your memory but would have worked really well as a cool scene to reward the target audience with. Isabella Moner was good, can see this being a nice springboard for her. Other kid, Elijah Rodriguez, was so so. Del Toro carries, Brolin is fine, thought he did some of the final scenes well, I felt that restrained pain! Catherine Keener is wasted a lot in this. 6 or 7/10 from me!

Really enjoyed this. Sure you could pick holes in the story, parts being quite far fetched with some strange jumps around in the path taken by Alejandro and Isabel but the action sequences are tense and powerful with an equally strong score. Love the heavy bass lines throughout this and the original film. Del Toro is perfect in his role. 8/10

This film really dragged in the beginning, it seemed to take forever for it to come alive. There were some great action sequences, but overall a pretty weak plot.

Liked the first film, especially Emily Blunt : )

This one i found dragged, was a 2/5 film, the final 30 mins seem out of sync with the rest.

MI 7 & 8
The Many Saints of Newark

Unnecessary but still solid enough watch in its own moody way, though it does get a bit far fetched, and the hackneyed "war on terror" propaganda thing is so worn thin these days.

3 stars.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?
