4DX

#1 Post by Gunnerjed » Thu Nov 01, 2018 10:03 am

Has anyone been to a 4DX cinema? Is it worth trying? I tried DBOX not too long ago and quite enjoyed it and 4DX seems like the next step up. Is it worth trying? Or is it no good?

I have been to a couple 4dx movies, it’s definitely worth a try, but it’s very variable movie to movie depending on the action for example venom was amazing in 4dx, hope that helps

I can't think of anything worse tbh.
I don't want smells or water sprayed on me. Whilst I occasionally use D-box, I only do so when I've already seen the film otherwise it could distract me from the actual film.
4DX sounds like a theme park ride. Too gimmicky for my taste.

I went to see Black Panther in 4DX at Cineworld earlier this year. I was a bit wary of trying at first, but as I had a voucher I could use for any format film thought I would give it a go. There was a big warning outside of certain medical conditions, ie epilepsy, travel sickness, but I was fine. I felt it went well with that film and the water was only small droplets and short gusts of air at side of head which gave effect of bullets going past. I felt the effects added to the film and I would certainly go again for certain films, though I would not p*y the extra cost only if I had a voucher.

Having seen Aquaman in 4DX it was fun for the first hour or so, but then I didn't enjoy it as much. Novelty factor is good, but I wouldn't want to see most films like that!
