So another film by director, Damien Chazelle, like La La Land, I was not enamoured by and felt lacking again, although I did enjoy, unexpectedly, Whiplash, his other film.

It lacked drama, and tension, and I could not engage with the characters, although the performances were good. I persevered as I like Ryan Gosling. Space travel is claustrophobic and death haunts even their training sessions, so you see the other side to how it is for the astronauts. It is very sobering and depressing. Neil is so wooden and humourless, lost in space even when he is back on earth. I suppose it shows his personal sacrifices to do the impossible. The film plodded and dragged for me, even being the First Man on the moon, was uneventful.

Perhaps, if I saw it on a bigger screen... I saw it on a tiny screen 3 at Vue Piccadilly, with 5 rows of 8 seats, did not even know they had tiny screening rooms (so was disappointing, it was so small!). I had a Vue voucher due to expire soon, so not a lot of choice!

Based on my enjoyment.. 6.5/10

I am not sure a bigger screen is the answer. The flyonthewall aspect just means you see huge faces on screen most of the time.Although to be fair I didnt see the whole movie.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

Saw this in IMAX. A bit too long I felt and too much close camera for my liking. I get that they wanted to give the audience a sense of being cramped but felt it was overdone. As a story fairly interesting so it's a 6.5/10.
