Second Act

#1 Post by ladams888 » Wed Jan 23, 2019 11:04 pm

Saw this in Kingston Odeon. The story of a woman who found that she could not progress in her career as she had no qualifications and who then suddenly found her dream job when she provided a fake CV. The acting was pretty poor (it starred Jennifer Lopez – need I say more?), the plot was unrealistic, contrived and corny, and it seemed to be condoning fraud. There were some funny moments, but not enough to save the film. 4/10

this story has been done before, you know the score, one half of trading places without the gags really, but with a few extra plot elements that really do require immense suspension of belief.

2 stars, perhaps 3 if you want something positive.

yeh if any "millenial" wants one product that can replace face wash, face cream, hand wash, shampoo in one, I got one, its called a bar of soap.

I seem to remember a similar film with an almost identical plot.
Vaguely amusing. Biggest gag about birds was in the trailer though.
Mediocre but enjoyed watching. Rubbish ending. And no photos of the real people during the credits. Lol
Anyone else think that Milo was Robert Carlyle's Begbie? Ha.

Cineworld Unlimited is cheating! ;-)

This was pretty poor. Presume they gave it money just for J Lo? She wasn’t worth it! Poor story , needed a better screenwriter! Ok if you switch your brain off for 90 mins.

Comedy about female empowerment with a twist. Lame storyline though, but funny and sad.

J Lo was ok. But good supporting cast. Better than expected. Feel good film.

Great, relaxing film with lots of laughs.

And a great twist that gave the film a heartwarming ending.
