Free seeds for schools

We are pleased to introduce our free seeds for school project. From class science projects, school garden clubs or a class activity we are more than happy to provide your school free seeds. Where possible a link in return to Growseed would be great but not required to take part.
Please NOTE we are unable to offer this to home schooling, clubs or anyone or any project outside of the education system. Please allow up to 4 weeks for a reply as demand is very high as you can imagine. We are unable to provide each child a packet of seed unless other wise stated, seed packets are normally to the value of £10.
School Science Projects
If your looking to run an experiment in class to show the children how seeds germinate or sprout then we can send out a packet of broad bean seeds or pea seeds. These are ideal to see a clear root / develop from the seed, very easy to handle and no seed treatment has been applied so safe for teachers and students to touch.
School Garden Clubs
We can provide a host of vegetable seeds to suit any needs you may have here at Growseed we offer two standard vegetable seed collections but your free to request alternative or different seed, just let us know what you require!
Young Children and Primary School 3 - 8 year olds
We provide simple large seeds. This collection includes: Broad Beans, Peas, Pumpkin & Squash and Sunflower seeds. All of these seeds are a good size for tiny fingers to pick up and handle no need to worry about tiny seeds getting lost or dropped in the wrong area.
Primary School & Comprehensive Ages 8+
This packet is made up of seeds a little bit smaller and not so easy to handle try to pick up one single seed at a time with your fingers can be a bit of a task! This collection includes: Onion, Carrot, Cauliflower, Leek, Squash & Pumpkin, Peas and Sunflower seeds.
Send us a message on the contact us page. Let us know what requirements you have and your seeds will be in the post. Please note as this is a seed for school promotion we can only deliver to a School address. This is open to all schools within the UK

Watch the fa cup semi final and final on ultra hd on bbc iPlayer
6 April and 18 May

Football fans enjoy the clarity & detail of Ultra HD of the beautiful game.
Following a number of successful trials in 2018, we'd been wondering what 4K content the BBC iPlayer would serve up next. And now we know.

The BBC will be streaming both the 2019 FA Cup semi-final between Manchester City and Brighton (6th April) and the FA Cup Final (18th May) through iPlayer in Ultra HD resolution, complete with HLG HDR (High Dynamic Range).

If you've got a compatible 4K TV, you can either hit the red button to access the stream or go through your TV's BBC iPlayer app.

As with previous trials, space on the service will be limited to "tens of thousands", and the BBC recommends an internet connection with a minimum speed of 40Mbps for the full-fat 4K experience of 3840 pixels at 50 frames per second or 20Mbps for a horizontal resolution of 2560 pixels.

It also suggests (as would we) a wired connection will give a more stable connection than streaming over wi-fi.

"Our Ultra HD and HDR programmes have been streamed millions of times on BBC iPlayer, making them some of the most popular Ultra HD programmes in the world" said Dan Taylor-Watt, Head of BBC iPlayer.

For the first time, the BBC will use the 4K trial as its main production and will take its HD and SD coverage from that workflow. The streams will also be used by the BBC to help refine its technology for reducing latency, which is normally experienced by a viewer of the 4K stream compared to the live broadcast.

The BBC has delivered a decent chunk of 4K HDR content through its online player in the past 12 months, including games from the FIFA World Cup and the Wimbledon tennis championships so it's good to see the first 4K instalment for 2019.

Free Spicy Veggie Wrap via McDonald's app
Until Fri 17 May, you can get a free Spicy Veggie Wrap (any time after 10.30am) when you order via the McDonald's app - and anyone can get it, even if you've used the app before.

On the homepage of the app, there is a tab labelled ‘Deals’, where you’ll find this along with any unclaimed offers. Click on the freebie, then ‘Add to order’. Once you've placed the order (and pa*d if you chose to add extras), you can then go to your chosen McDonald's and pick it up using the order number you're given.

Free wraps are limited to one per person, and once you've claimed it, the deal will disappear from the app.
