Astonishing that they've made a film they're marketing as "inspirational".

Incredibly tragic life.

Absolutely agree, AYGB. I've just come out from seeing Judy and found it incredibly sad . . . definitely nothing inspirational about the life of Judy Garland.
I thought Renee Zellweger has excellent in the part of Judy but no-one else stood out in the film. I prefer stories told in a 'straight line' ie from her childhood through to her adulthood and found the film a little annoying with occasional returns to her early years in films. Judy seemed to have had a pretty miserable early life and sadly that continued in to her marriages.
At the moment, I don't feel I want to see it again as it's depressing but maybe I'll feel different tomorrow.

While the casting is certainly great (my, my, Renee can sing!), I found the film very long.... some parts of it were so boring to me that I started to lose focus several times. Can't disagree on the sad film category, it was definitely heartbreaking to watch.
