Don't understand why so many American critics though it was pro capitalism
Haven't read that but is it anything like the Extinction Rebellion protest yesterday. In a scene very reminiscent of the movie, people were dragged off a train and beaten by a crowd because they wanted to get to work or go about their lives.

In Joker

the only city issue we see is a labor strike? So rubbish starts to pile up on the street. Joker starts to go off the rails because he loses his job and funding is cut for his mental support. That eventually sparks unrest because people want the basic services that capitalism provides?

This is dark, so dark. I was awestruck and mesmerised. I was also disturbed and moved at the same time. Joaquin Phoneix is amazing. His character is haunting and tragic. I can understand how frustrating it is not to be listened to, or to be understood, resulting in the madness that overcomes him to make bad choices. It's all too real. 9/10

Thought it was a great acting performance by Joaquin and helped me understand the character more. Also liked how they released the film on heath ledgers birthday.

Overhyped-over rated, and A sequel? Dollar signs and clouded judgement. No De Nido in sequel won't make it worth seeing. Wakkin was too campy and soft for it, as for being , criminal mastermind, totally bypassed on that too. Meh. :undecided:

It is now the 1st r rated film to make a billion at the box office, it is obvious it is going to get nominated for many awards soon.
