Dolittle

#1 Post by tonethestone » Sat Jan 18, 2020 7:53 pm

Scathing reviews from media are completely correct, a truly waste of time and effort, I didn’t p*y to see this but annoyed at the time I’ve lost watching a film with zero effort from any of the cast. I didn’t have high expectations going in, but this was even worse than I could have imagined.
0/5,
Upcoming films want to see;
Top Gun Maverick
MI 7 & 8
The Many Saints of Newark
Ghostbusters : Afterlife

Best films seen recently;
Tenet
Once Upon A Time In Hollywood
In The Heights
A Quiet Place 2

0/5,
Have to agree, this was as bad as the early reviews make out. It did look fantastic but didn't have much else to recommend it. A normally reliable Robert Downey was as poor as I've seen him and the less said about his Welsh accent the better, I'll leave it to someone who's Welsh to make comment.

There is a mid credit sequence if your still about for the credits and there's nothing after the credits so no need to hang about.

I was looking forward to this film but . . . Oh, dear 😢 It totally misses the mark. The story is very poor, the acting by Robert Downey was poor and the animals had no appeal on the whole. The judge of a children's film is how engrossed they are . . . and they definitely were not . . . and made frequent trips to the toilet throughout the film. Generally I try to not put people off seeing a film but I think many will be disappointed if they see Dolittle.

This is really disappointing to read, I was looking forward to seeing this but won't bother given the feedback. I'd been watching this threat hoping somebody would give some positive feedback.

I wouldn't let comments put you off . . . we are all different and it may be that with your anticipation lowered a little, you find you actually enjoy it! I will probably see it again as I know my friend really wants to see it and I'm hoping I enjoy it better as I've now lowered my expectations.

I personally read no reviews before seeing the movie and really enjoyed it! Is it a masterpiece? No, but I found it to be good fun, RDJ was completely bonkers, and the overall voices casting was perfect in my opinion, especially on Emma Thompson's part.
