Nope. Nope, nope, nope. They literally lost me for good there.
Don't get me wrong, as a whole I enjoyed (most of) the story, but I don't understand what the hell it has to do with Newt or fantastic beasts anymore (yes they are still a plot device, but it's so remote you could take them out and you would end up with the same result so what's the point?). Ever since the second movie it's all focused on the big upcoming battle between Dumbledore and Grindewald (and if you are a Harry Potter fan you know exactly how it ends so... again, the point?) and very little to do with Newt and his life work on protecting these "fantastic beasts".
The movie is not doing great at the box office, and unfortunately that means we might not even get movies 4 and 5 now because of this, so we will never get the closure they are badly working towards...
