When I first saw the trailer, I was like "this film looks completely silly, and not in the right way" so I wasn't likely to go see it. Against all reason, I decided to not judge the film by its trailer and to give it a chance, especially because I adore Nicolas Cage. And frankly, I don't regret it...
Is it completely kookie, crazy, weird? YES. Does it make it bad? I genuinely don't think so. While there are some slow parts here and there, and some definite cringe, I found myself laughing a lot more than I expected and overall enjoying myself. Would a recommend p*ying full price to see it? Probably not. I even told a friend to just wait for it to come to a streaming platform, as it's one of these rare films I would say are better experienced in the comfort of your home rather than the big screen.
