I wasn’t a fan of the film but this seems a little harsh;

Just shows reviews mean less and less nowadays.

I am not normally a fan of biopics, and I hadn't really intended to see this at the cinema (I'd seen the trailers and decided it wasn't for me) but it was the only movie that suited my timings and I went in a little reluctantly.
It was serendipity (I've always wanted to use that word). I thought it was great fun and an enjoyable couple of hours - I came out really uplifted and also saddened by the loss of Freddy Mercury (I was too young to appreciate his talent when he was alive).
Rami Malek is superb. I went in utterly convinced that Christian Bale should get the best actor Oscar, but came out thinking that he had real competition from Malek.
Yes, Bale's acting experience shines through his performance and there are a couple of fleeting seconds that Malek's Mercury doesn't quite work. But overall, Malek is incredible.
I am so glad that the Odeon scheduled the timings when they did.

They only ever seemed to like Arctic Monkeys. Tbf to NME though I think it’s based on top critic reviews from RT.

Was on over Xmas and wanted a fresh viewing, it’s even worse than I thought. The timeline being changed is a disgrace and should never have been allowed. Malek as Freddy was ok but not as good as some make out.

Soap opera territory. Deserves the awful reviews it has. 1/5.

Without a doubt I think it is one of the best films, besides the fact that Rami is too good an actor, it was well structured and everything as it should be, I really have nothing to complain about.
