[quote So here is a simple way to measure your body fat with pretty good consistency.

Calculator: http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/library/b ... ulator.htm

Now check what category you fall into: http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/library/b ... charts.htm [/quote]

Well i've done that and will keep checking it everytime we weigh in, thank you MrGlass

Hope everyone is having a good week o/

Morning guys

Hope you are all well and feeling great :D

I've been struggling a bit the last few days as i really feel like munching..but not the good stuff  As I'm feeling stubborn about my weight and don't want to give in (never give in never surrender..that's my motto) i brought 2 honeydew melons and ate them both in the same day.. now you may laugh but it stopped the munchies i can tell you :X

So now the bloating has gone down and please don't even think of telling me the calorie content of two honeydew melons (munching women can be dangerious) i'm feeling back on an even keel. So finish this message and power walk to gym, then legs, bums and tums then try to power walk home with what may look like an ironing board up by back :p

Have fun guys and remember never give in, never surrender :p

That is so funny, I get the munchies when I'm hormonal and I've eaten a punnet of raspberrys and blueberries in a day.
I'm going to Vienna in the morning and I will do my best to follow your motto; just b*ght some fitflops to work out my thighs while I'm there I feel very bouncy when I walk so hopefully they will do something.
Have a fun weekend and thanks for all your encouragement o/

Wha?...you girls are so damn complicated but me likes the "not giving in" part o/ And ok ok, I'll back off mentioning the 2 honeydew melons...

I'm envisioning you power walking, and I see a determined girl literally bulldozing over hapless pedestrian victims for some reason :P

Enjoy your weekend girls and invisible boys :D

Well, going to be running in the British 10k London Run tomorrow morning. My first ever event run so I'm pretty excited. Its going to be scorching hot though, hope I will cope with it, aiming to run it in 56mins which would be my personal best...but will the heat let me...

Good luck, Mr G. It's certainly much cooler at present (had to run round closing windows when I got up), so I hope it doesn't heat up too much before your run. And best wishes for your personal best!

Whoo, you're right Ms Thrifty, the weather was just perfect this morning, not too hot!

It was a fantastic event, I got there quite early...actually very early so I was in the 1st wave of runners. As this is a film forum, I just have to make a reference to a film that sprang to mind as I was making my way to the event this morning. And no, it wasnt chariots of fire or anything cheesy like that...no it was 28 Days Later! Ok, I'll explain, as I said I set out VERY early this morning, by catching a bus to Westminster Bridge. From here on I had to walk the rest of the journey because all roads were closed off to traffic for the running route. That's where 28 Days Later comes in, as I walked down Westminster Bridge, it was eerily quiet! No vehicles! Ok, no zombies either, thankfully, but it felt bloody weird :)

But as for the race event itself, the amount of people taking part was breathtaking, looking behind me, the runners seemed to fuse with the horizon, there didnt seem to be an end to the tailback. 9am they began a procession of Kings guards regiments and various band playing including "God Save our Queen". Then the race began with the firing of one big frigin loud canon that made me jump out of my shorts...But the atmosphere was great, loudspeakers were installed throughout the whole route playing mix of pop and patriotic music, and plenty of spectators cheering the runners on. It was quite difficult finding my rhythm at first because of the density of runners weaving around each other but I got the hang of it!

Thanks for the best wishes, girls, I think it pa*d off as I ran it in just under 56 mins! I dont know my exact time yet though as I have to wait for the results on website (I opted to wear some sort of chip timer, just to feel like a professional runner ;) Well, next stop, The Great North Run in september...twice the distance., oh boy gotta keep training ;)

Allsinging, thanks for your immense praise (maybe a tad too much, lol) and impressive use of vocabulary! I am now pausing and reflecting from your remarks on how far I've come since last November. I just ran a 10k event, and I ran it, under an hour too, its still sinking in ;) I'm becoming a proper runner...trust me, 7-8 months ago, none of my friends saw that coming, heck I never saw that bloody coming! But its not just me, have a look at our progress project chart and see how far many of us have come!

But all of you are a big part of my progress, you know how much it helps me to be able to share the knowledge I've gathered with you...? Well, a lot! And not to mention the endless encouragement we give each other here :)

Well its cup final day, will chill for rest of the day and watch some proper "real" athletes show us what fitness and endurance really means at kick off time!

Update Edit: Just got my official time of 55.19 mins. My new PB! And it appears I am in the top 3rd finishers.

First of all, wow MrGlass! What a fantastic achievement. You must be so incredibly proud of how far you have come. Heck, I am proud on your behalf! Really amazing! I hope your muscles aren't too sore today!

Allsinging well done as well for running the Race for Life. And for running it all the way instead of walking! Very impressive, especially with the hot weather we've been having. Good luck with the next target! Haha.

The rest of you, well done for keeping each other so motivated. I've seen a few setbacks but it seems that everyone is staying positive and getting themselves back on track as soon as they can! Keep it up!

For me, I am refusing to take part in MrGlass' experiment of measuring your waist. I don't want to know! It feels like I have gained at least 10 kilos but at my check up last week it was only 2 kilos. Am now a little over 13 weeks pregnant so it's not too bad yet. The worst is yet to come! Lucky things is (even though I am struggling to see the positive side of it) that I feel nauseous 24 hours a day. I don't fancy any food and when I do eat, I only manage a few mouthfulls.

Good thing is that I need to eat very regularly to stop myself from feeling really sick so I eat at least every 2 hours or even more often sometimes. Not exercising much (bouncing up and down when you feel like your breakfast is about to come back on itself is not the most exciting prospect!) but I do cycle to the station for work and walk and cycle to shops etc. Everything is a bit closer here so it's easier to do so.

Anyway, good luck again everyone this week!!
