DH and I really enjoyed this one - it did start a little slowly - I was surprised at the point I looked at my watch and only an hour had gone by. It was very 'wordy' and took some concentrating on - which was a good thing. I enjoyed the fact that it did not do any flashy - it was rather like watching a play.

I did not really enjoy the Emily Mortimer story line - but the rest was great. It had lots of laugh out loud moments, plus Andy Garcia and Julianna Margulies gave good performances and had great chemistry.

I would have like to have seen more of the actual 'City Island' on display in the film - but otherwise a great evenings entertainment.

8/10

I'll say 'Hi' to you guys next time! Make sure you wear your badges though or put a post it note on your back with your user name, as I normally sit on the back row, that way I can see who you are

Oh, and yes, I agree Islington Vue is a great place to watch films.

Also, I saw a link for 50% off food at Wenlock and Essex restaurant on Essex Road today. I posted it in the Bargains section of this site, but it might be useful if anyone wants to make a night out of it.

It's the old Living Room. I've not been there yet, but it was packed last night when I caught the bus past. However, it might have been the opening party or something, as I don't think it was open earlier on in the week.

Thoroughly enjoyed this one - glad i opted to see it instead of A Team. I thought it was a very funny film and I loved the hairy "con" son. Even had a tear in my eye at the last scene. 9/10 for me - love to watch it again

City Island was reviewed on R4's "Front Row" last night but I felt the reviewer didn't do it justice - she seemed to get bogged down in detail without giving an accurate impression of the overall film. It's certainly one of my best of the year so far and likely to remain so.

I see others have mentioned Little Miss Sunshine - well, OH compared it to A Serious Man, which threw me at first, but then I realised he meant in the way that one thing seems to pile on another, with hilarious results. Hope that if the critics don't like it, it does at least become a word-of-mouth hit.

It was a good film :D The start is not so strong, but the end is very
good. Like Dr.Hause sad "Everybody is lying".

I loved this film, all of it. I found Emily Mortimer very irritating at first but eventually warmed to her.
