I think the target for the episode was hit... Moffat seemed relieved to announce on Twitter 7.5 million viewers. I hope it keeps most of them.

Saw Sherlock Holmes through iplayer last night. Missed it on Sunday but following all your glowing reviews, I thought I'd give it a go.

Was fantastic, loved the dialogue and the quick wit. I felt the writers were true to the original characters but it was all adapted very well to give it a very modern twist. I'll definitely be watching out for it on Sunday and I do hope they plan to make a full series.

Not sure if this puts me in the same brilliant category as Holmes (not sure I want to be considered as a high functioning socio-path! ) but like Spanner
I realised it was the Taxi Driver as soon as they pulled over the cab and discounted the passenger - I was shouting there are two people in that cab, check the driver!!!!!
Maybe I should start a new career!

I'm half way through a Joseph Gordon-Levitt fest tonight. He is so adorable, I really to like him. Anyway have just seen Brick - the dialogue is fantastic, can't believe I missed this film before. Not 100% sure of the plot. The style of film does mean you have to concentrate because of the complexity they are trying to create and the way each level of story is unravelled. However I did appreciate the effort - I went through a period where all I wanted to read was Raymond Chandler so I appreciate that type of writing. Some of the one liners in that film are classic. Would recommend.

Now going to watch Shadow Boxer on DVD with Helen Mirren, Cuba Gooding Jr and Gordon-Levitt before watching The Closer and Southland a little later on More4.

He is a little cutie and turningout to be a pretty good actor, not many child actors manage that. I Loved him in Inception

Iast night I went to the Somerset House open air Cinema to see Kill Bill and Enter The Dragon. Sadly the idea proved better than the reality for someone old with various joint problems.

Trouble is you have to get there about 6.30 to get a good spot and sort out your blankets pillows and food etc. Films can't start until 9.20 because of the light. By that time I was irritable uncomfortable fed up with the people who I was with cos they were having a good time :tears: . I ended up leaving halfway thorugh the first film!
I thoroughly recommend this for youngsters who dont have bad backs ets. On the way out, I turned an looked at the venue, the massive screen, excellent sound, all the people watching wrapped up in quilts and blankets, beautiful venue, and wished I was 25 years younger

I know where you come from. I can't watch anything anymore if not on a proper comfy chair or sofa. Reclining on blankets is murder to my back.
