Loads of saggy skin will be the least of her worries. God what has she done. Restricting her food intake for life (that's what a grastric band does) will do her no favours mentally, socially and healthily. She will become extremely agitated and depressed. I'm not wishing it upon her but thats the danger she is in. She could have just spend the same £360 I spent on a personal trainer and a further £500 on a nutrional adviser for 12-16 months and she would be sorted. And if she's skint (how can she be?), she can come and join us on the fmuk fat loss thread :) But its tragic. She is probably addicited to food but that's all about will power and training the body and mind eliminate the addiction.

It just totally astounds me how celebrities mis-spend their money on these, when simple mind training, motivation and a little patience is all that is needed to lose weight. Much cheaper, much more heathier. Its all about the how much you are easily infuleance by others around you. Celebrities obviously do have a hard time resisting countless invitations to luxury meals with fellow celebs. Diane, our socialising queen would know :D but at least she is fighting it and choosing healthy menu options and exercising :)

Oh well. All of us here know better, dont we ;)

Oh it always amazes me how people can opt for a life threatening major operation over a bit of willpower. I know it's hard to lose weight, I know it's tough to have self-control, but if your options are self-control or a dangerous operation that will change your life forever??? I know what my choice would be!

Am struggling to eat anything healthy at the moment as for some reason fried, greasy stuff seems to be the only thing to appeal to me right now! Am trying to restrain myself though and the knowledge that fried, greasy stuff is not only bad for me and my weight but also for that poor baby that has no choice in the matter tends to keep me on the right track. But I have to admit that driving past a McDonalds around dinner time on Saturday evening proved too much of a challenge! At least I thoroughly enjoyed it, had water rather than Coke with it and had a nectarine at home instead of a McFlurry. Oh well, there's a time for everything right?

Well Diane, you are losing weight and even though it might not be going very quickly, you are still losing, not gaining and as MrGlass says you won't look like a Sharpei!!! :D Now there's something to remember when you're in starving mode!

MrGlass you never seem to amaze us with your exceptional zest for life and anything healthy. It really is very impressive and I wish I had your willpower and energy.

TheyCallMeMrGlass wrote:hehe, yeah but you're losing weight a bit TOO SLOW, Diane!! 1-1.5lbs a week is what you should aim for, not 1lb a fortnight ;) But you on the track and you doing great...but you know that its all that eating out at restaurants that bothers me all the time...yeah, I'm holding you responsible for my stress levels!..."Where is Diane eating out tonight? oh good grief.."
Now listen here sunshine if you have failed to notice I've been continually praising your achievements and for whatever reason (hormones  ) you are blaming me for your stress levels

You should take a leaf out of your name sakes post on the birthday thread he comes across as a lovely sensitive guy with the beautiful post about emotions (tissues out again - so glad I'm going to see Knight and day tonight I can't cope with any more sentimentality) ;)

Thanks jmd1983 for your support at least us girls stick together. o/

Diane65, surely the point is that you are losing weight steadily - and you do have a life as well! Just think yourself lucky that you're out of Mr Glass's reach, though with all that running, he may well make it to Manchester one day. What do you think he would say to my own method (have lots of exercise and eat what you like)? No, I'd better not mention it, as it would only add to his stress if he thought I was trying to lead you weight-watchers astray.

Ha ha that's my type of dieting I always have a reward after my very long hill walks, I have already reached my own target weight it is he who must be obeyed that has set me a lower target (but seeing how I look the extra half stone would improve things - but it will go to his head if I admit to it)

Really Diane65 you and other members are doing Mr Glass a big favour. What would he do if you had all met your targets and no longer needed his advice? I think its in his interest as well as yours if you stray now and then!

I'm on a train to work right now, my demon mask is lifted to reveal a real demon but more humble ;) not sure wot I stirred up, (demons never do) but I can tell u all without a doubt, I'm nothing without you all, here and gratefully for everyone support as we all support and motivate each other here. Sorry I upset u Diane! I do bully a bit don't I. And u know there's nothing better than outdoor socializing, its what I strive on too! Healthier than so called online social networking (apart from fmuk :) so u keep it up.

Any its obvious I'm trying to sweet talk my sorry ass out of this, but not very well, obviously too much guilt, so as I getting off next stop, and await the planned punishment that awaits me when I come back here to post the chart ;)

It takes a lot more than your bully boy tactics to upset me ;) I only cried myself to sleep for one night lol
It made me laugh you comparing my social life with the celebrities it conjures up a vision of this glamorous woman in a cocktail dress going to the Ivy unlike me who's going out for a 5 mile walk followed by a healthy lunch today in the park with my friend and her labrador! I could get used to this being a lady who lunches (got 3 days leave yippee).
