I was wondering about how everyone was getting on yesterday! I thought perhaps you'd all wasted away!
Hehe, I wish.

Congratulations Diane that’s really good, have you lost it all now? They always say it’s much better to lose it slowly as you’re less likely to put it back on. I think if you crash diet it goes back on very easily when you eat normally again.
I’ve just reached my initial target; I’ve lost 4 stone 3 pounds. I’ve been doing this since October as well (I went on holiday in September, felt so uncomfortable and then saw the pictures and it was the kick start I needed, turned out my BMI was 36, which is disgraceful). My BMI is now about 27, which is still too high, but I’m 5ft 9inches so I feel comfortable as I am for now. I think in the long term I probably want to lose another stone/stone and a half, but I have a lot going on over the next few weeks so I’m just concentrating on staying the same weight for now and then I’ll get back to it Mid-September time with the aim to losing it all by Christmas. I’ve found exercise really helps me keep my weight down, although I’ve had trouble with my leg recently so haven’t been able to do as much as I’d like.

Mr Glass, how’ve your training going?

Oh wow AnneJ - that's amazing progress. Sounds like a good idea to change your tactics over the next few weeks if you're going to be busy. Are there other forms of exercise that you can try that won't push your leg so much?

I must admit I am mightily impressed with how hard you're all working at getting fit. I hope you are all proud of yourselves - whether it's 1lb, 1 stone or 10 stone it's all fantastic - give yourselves a pat on the back and keep up the good work!

You're just too funny Syd!

Although technically it's a sound suggestion...

Annej, regards to your leg, depends on which part you have trouble with. Aside from Syd's er...technically sound suggestion as Anakin eloquently puts it, other non non impact cardio, would include cycling, cross trainer and swimming. Or if you havent the time to go out to do that, then if you have a flight of stairs, do step exercises and progress with a rucksack adding books into it as you progress. When I have a few moments I'll post up some exercise workout recommendations for the home. In fact there was a link I had put up a few months/weeks ago, of a great fitness video channel on you tube. I'll post it later.

I've had to take a week off from training as I got a heel tendon problem just 5 weeks before my epic run, oh no! But my therapist is working with me using my great north run as a target. I have to do 4 rehabilitation exercises per day, 7 days a week on my heel but I feel progress and I'm positive. I will make that great north run come what may.

Oh and my Asthma UK running team have to wear green paint on our faces, so I need suggestions from you all, as to what to paint myself as. I think Alsingning and Jmd made some suggestions but I forgot what they were! I'm thinking, Green Arrow, as I used to read those comic books but thats probably boring to you lot, so go on give me some ideas...;)
