Well, I now have tickets too, thanks to the usual suspect male and female angels around here.

Just had a phone call from girlfriend who is at Sheffield Cineworld - they haven't received the film, so are giving everyone complimentary tickets to see what they like. May be nice to know if someone was deciding not to go last minute, may as well get there to pick up your complimentary tickets.

Re: The Last Exorcism
just back. Edinburgh was about 40% full when the film started bang on 6.30 and then filled up to about 65% full between 6.30 and 7 which was quite annoying.
5 youngish girls left after about 15 mins.
it's documentary style and not what i was expecting and i liked that, it was different.
the film wasn't really that scary as these things go, it's only a 15 certificate.
it was going along fine until they seemed to run out of ideas and did a wham bam ending which was pretty disappointing and i had been expecting better.
it was 7/10 but the rubbish ending took it back to 5.5 from me.
it's a tad gory in bits but not bad at all as far as these things go.

Re: The Last Exorcism
Watched this tonight at Cineworld Edinburgh ....
From the writing team that brought you a) Mail Order Wife b) The Virginity Hit c) The Burst Condom. Not a great CV but, hey-ho it's another freebie ... then again, it's one of those preview rarities that gets you thinking afterwards "I wish I hadn't".
Up to the 30 minute mark I thought I was coping well with the old-hat docu-style approach. Yeah, I can get into this ... when it eventually gets going.
Oh dear, what a sorry excuse for a movie it turned out to be - and surely the ending was meant to be some sort of perverse joke on the audience?! But somehow I doubt it. The ending was something Hammer Films of the 60s/70s would have thrown out.
Felt sorry for the cast who were half-decent but the script is an absolute stinker. An appalling 2/10.

Re: The Last Exorcism
They were settling down to watch The Switch! Either the staff misdirected them to the wrong screen or they screwed up. If it took them 15mins to leave then I siuspect the latter.alythonian wrote: 5 youngish girls left after about 15 mins.
Re: The Last Exorcism
I enjoyed it as I haven't seen that type of film in a while. May have helped that I like the actor who played Cotton though. The ending was a bit abrupt and I was like 'oh, is that it?!' Wasn't as gorish as I'd have liked and maybe if I'd have pa*d I'd feel a bit ripped off.
Overall maybe 6.5/10
