Jmd, I'm sure you're positively glowing and gorgeous at 5.5 months!!!!!! Are you talking to your baby and singing to him/her yet??

Glassy, good luck with the cramming and exams!!! I'm sure you'll ace them and don't forget, Latin is way sexy!!! Sit vis nobiscum!!! ;) ;)
Oh yeah and "Some Lovers Try Positions That They Can't Handle" (wrist) while Those Cute Naughty Men I Love Cuddling (foot) ;)
Girl, you're hilarious not to mention your latin is exquisite! How the heck did you know that was latin for "May the force be with you" ? lol.

Anyway, what's happening on the health & fitness front girls and girls? ;) Had a good week?

My week was tough tough tough. I'm so sorry to report but I failed my first theory exam, though I passed a practical assessment. So I need to retake the theory at the end of the course. But I am taking the positive from it. I will pass it next time because I know its structure and type of questions :) But boy its intense, I am struggling cramming so much knowledge in. But I am doing my best and picturing myself as a super trainer every day to motivate myself. If anything, I have learnt so much, so in a way, everyday is a success in knowledge gained regardless of my exam results.

I am happy to say that thanks to another fmuker, I have reached the target fund raise for Asthma UK! Girls, you have been brilliant! I mean half of my sponsorship came form you guys. Thank you!

Well done MrGlass on passing your practical exam and sorry to hear about your theory; you really do put yourself under so much pressure especially doing your run the day before your exam but glad that you can retake it at the end and that you still have your positive attitude and of course you will pass it next time.

I'm ashamed to say that my healthy eating went to pot last week having no car and spending an average of 3 hours travelling each day I lived off takeaways 8O I will weigh myself on Wednesday and report back.

Hope your back is feeling better jmd1983 it could be hormones or purely how the baby is positioned, don't be too hard on yourself about not looking like one of the celebrities who are more concerned about their image rather than you who is making sure your baby is thriving, but I'm sure you look gorgeous :D

Good grief, find where to pick up your gym card quick and burn that carb off, should temptation get the better of you in the form pizza/sweet/burger/toffe popcorn binging ;)

This is actually a good time to get a fresh program at the gym, I can see you are a person that is very conscience of what's healthy for you, that's brilliant. 3-4 sessions a week would make you feel ready for anything including keeping awake through some yawn inducing lectures and perhaps a competitive SU society :)

Well, having no car probably meant you were doing more walking which might offset the takeaways ;) I wouldnt worry too much about it, as long as you aware and try to adjust to your change of circumstances. To be honest it took me a few days to adjust to my full time course and ended up not eating for several hours because there are no canteens or shops nearby and the study was too intense for me to afford going for a long lunch hour, on top of that, I found I was drinking way too much coffee! This was not heathy, as I normally eat 5 times a day. But I adjusted and created more time to prepare my eating patterns by the second week. There are always off weeks, so dont worry about those, just adjust as best as you can within the environment. Making pack lunches is always the best (and CHEAPEST) solution plus you in total control of what's going in your body!

There is one thing which I'm learning and confirming now from several Fitness experts regards to nutrition. Avoid as much processed food/drink as you can possibly manage. The whole country is being fed poison I'm afraid, so its not easy. The fact is, eating 2000 kcal of purely unprocessed (or organic) meat, veg, fruits will be equivalent to eating 1500kcal of the same food that is non-organic or processed. Its absolutely horrifying learning the chemicals that we are consuming from innocent food that we think are healthy and good for us from meat to veg to fruits. So if you can, organic. I know its more expensive but have a think, what you p*ying a little extra for...a longer and healthier life. rawr_oxo and other students, dont worry about that, just eat healthy as you can :) but once you on a decent salary, start thinking about organic and unprocessed food.

Basically, eating healthily wether to maintain your weight or lose body fat is not just about lowering your caloric deficit but to eat QUALITY food. Read those ingredients labels, the more chemical words that you dont understand, the more processed it is. I'm afraid that includes so called "diet" or "no added sugar" squash/coke etc. Drink lots of water. Drink tea. Even better, drink herbal tea! One day a week, treat yourself to whatever you like including a cake...but just one day a week. My "comfort" day, as Diane puts it, is Sunday when I play cricket, and there is lovely tea laid out full of yummy sandwhiches and cakes followed by 1 or 2 pints after the game.

I'll discuss more after my course is finished.

Hey,

I am late to the party but was hoping I could join in too!

I've just got back from travelling where I managed to lose half a stone but ideally I'd like to lose another four. Being away and seeing how other people eat really made me realise I eat way too much bread and potatoes!

I'm hoping to go to Australia in the not too distant future and while I have no illusions of being a bikini clad babe... I would like to be slimmer and healthier!

This sounds like a great deal for Londoners, £30 for 10 bootcamp sessions (Save £95). For those who don't have gym membership, this sounds like an excellent and affordable opportunity. Bootcamps are great workouts, fun and for all standards. All 10 sessions must be done within 3 months though (so that should encourage you to attend at least once a week but twice a week even better)

Offer is only on today. If anyone goes to it, let us know how it was :)
