Went yesterday to the Novello Theatre to see the play Onassis. I was a bit disappointed with our seats: dress circle row G, which were rather high up, and little legroom. I was glad that the 2 seats in front of us were empty. But shortly after the play started, a lady arrived and sat first in front of my oh, and then changed seats and sat in front of me. She was leaning forward and blocking our view a lot, which was really pissing me off, so I decided to tap her on the shoulder and ask her to sit normally.

Anyhoo, I don't want to put anyone off, but I wasn't that fascinated by the play. Too much foul language and gossip for my taste. On a positive note, the guy playing Onassis did a very good job, and I also enjoyed the Greek singing/dancing and the stage set up.

I also went to Onassis and was on the front row of the stalls which was fine but slight neck ache afterwards...also ucakpam will know what I mean when I say that I got splashed a little!!

Robert Lindsay and the rest of the cast did a sterling job and although there were some good bits overall I thought the play a bit thin and the ending weak. Not too bad for a freebie though and not tempted to walk out halfway through as I did for Carousel with Lesley Garrett!

The Novello Theatre is really charming.
Preferred cinemas:
Central London and North London as far north as the Hampstead Everyman including Picturehouse Hackney/Notting Hill Gate - but not Wood Green and North Finchley as they are just a bit too far.

I'd bloody love to go to that, but I don't think they are free. I tried to find some info on it on the Metro website and couldn't

It was on the actual Metro paper. Yes it's not free....
