Ms Thrifty wrote:Just had a Tesco Clubcard mailshot saying that from 1 November, they are reducing both the points earned for petrol and the value of rewards - bother! Petrol is about the only thing I can b*y at Tesco and a tank lasts me about a month. At this rate I might just as well go to the cheapest garage as p*y whatever Tesco want just to earn points. And if rewards cost more, too, I might never earn enough for another Cineworld voucher!

Why is Nectar so rubbishy for deals, even the reduced Clubcard version? We have thousands of almost useless Nectar points.

Nectar points aren't useless, you can exchange them vor cinema or days out vouchers.
Tesco clubcard points are good for Pizza Express vouchers, I think that's what I am going to spend mine on, I practically live there anyway.

OK, you can exchange Nectar points for Vue cinema tickets but only at the rate of 500 points per £2.50 of ticket price, which in many cases would mean using 750 points or more - quite steep when you consider that £3 in Clubcard vouchers has, until now, been enough for a whole Cineworld ticket anywhere but central London. And if Vue isn't your local... costs me £5 off-peak to travel to my nearest Vue. Suppose it's all relative - pity we can't swap loyalty card points as we do tickets!

Ms Thrifty wrote:Yikes, doesn't it vary according to who and where you are?! I imagined it'd be colder up north and that people would have their heating on earlier. I can never sleep with the window open in case of noise, though today I may have woken neighbours myself by having to scrape the ice off my car.
Its the powers that be at work that have decided it isn't cold, as soon as the patients go we put our coats and scarfs on and I drink loads of hot water to try and stay warm, you get a brain freeze at the end of the day like when you have an ice cream (sorry I was being sarcastic  )

Wow - cannot believe my son is 16 today - sure makes me feel old! He's gone from snuggling in the crook of my arm to giving me next ache as I look up to tell him off!

(Don't tell him but I am so gonna pinch the box of Green & Black chocs that my aunt got him - he can keep the gift voucher she also gave him but there are just some things that are too good for 16 year old)
