I also went to see STOMP on Monday, and yes, it was amazing and very clever! I too could not believe how much music they made out of everything. There was a lot of humour too, and audience participation. I can understand why some people may not like it as it was non-stop drumming, clapping, etc, for almost two hours and some people said they came away with a headache! But I enjoyed it, definitely, worth 10 squid - we sat second row circle and it was very intimate.

2nd row? Did they throw the water at you??? It's fun isn't it clapping and teasing with them.... but I don't think it'll suit anyone with heart problem...prettyxcool wrote:I also went to see STOMP on Monday, and yes, it was amazing and very clever! I know, I just got to open my eyes and look, all these free tickets and discounts are still a novelty to me only discovering them back in May. Hadn't been to a concert for 10 years coz I just could afford it and now been 3 times in 3 months and the kids have never had so many trips to the cinema!!Beate wrote:LOL, it's not that hidden.

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
Went to see Mary J Blige at M.E.N arena Manchester last night, SFF were giving so many free tickets out that 5 friends plus my DD and her BF were also able to go. It was quite sad to see so much of the arena curtained off. The whole of the upper tier was closed, along with lower tier blocks 105 thru to 112. That left just 3 lower tier blocks on each side of the arena plus the floor seating. However these were all pretty full by the time MJB came on stage. The first support act was some local guy doing beat-boxing, seems he'd won a local radio competition. Always amazes me how they can make so many sounds at the same time. The main support was Lemar which was a nice suprise because I hadn't looked at who was on with her. He was only on for about 30 minutes but he was really good. (Lemar is also supporting Enrique Iglesias on his tour next year) MJB didn't come on stage until 10pm but had the whole crowd on their feet and dancing right from the start. She was really good! There were lots of songs I wasn't familiar with, but that didn't spoil my enjoyment. When she sang 'No more Drama' towards the end, the place erupted, it was like being in a night-club. I've got blisters on my feet this morning. The only negative of the evening was that due to her late start, 2 of our party and quite a few others, had to leave half way through the show to catch the last train or be stranded in Manchester.

I was disappointed there were no London tickets, but I wouldn't of been happy if I had gone and then she hadn't come on til 10pm.....its not like its a something that is sprung on them they know they have to be there!! lol It was bad enough when GnR did it and you expect it from them.
Glad she was good when she came on though.
