Re: The Diary Room
I went to lunch at 12 today, stopping at Boots to get some over the counter drops for my eye infection. The woman at the counter visibly recoiled though, said "this looks bad" and told me to have it seen to straight away. So I went to the Walk In Centre at Liverpool Street Station. After only 90 minutes of waiting, a doctor told me he didn't like a few of my symptons and was referring me to Moorfields Eye Hospital. By this time I started to get freaked out a little as all I wanted was some drops for my conjunctivitis! Moorfields A&E is the most dreary place imaginable, with plastic chairs and a guy coming round selling crisps and drinks. I discovered that they have a free water cooler though so he didn't make any money out of me. I had nothing to read with me though and really objected to the constant drone of BBC1 in the background - daytime telly gives me the hives. After 2 hours I realised I would not get back to the office before closing time so sent the OH to gather my stuff together which I had left behind as I had only planned to pop into Boots! After 3 hours I was finally called through only to be turfed out again, "Apologies, but you are top of your list now" and having to wait another 20 minutes. And after all this I was told I had viral conjunctivitis and a throat infection (I could have told them that myself!) and that I should take ibuprofen and rest. Not even any nifty eye drops! God love the NHS because I can't.

Re: The Diary Room
It was still the right thing to do by having it checked out though, Beate, and its nice to know it wasnt anything worse. The boots lady and GP sound like they were just being precautious for your sake. Sorry your experience was rather dragged out though and I know the NHS have much to improve on (I know what you gonna say, like..everything!). Hope you have a quick recovery. Oh and good on ya for selecting water over fatty crisps and sweet drinks :)Beate wrote:I went to lunch at 12 today, stopping at Boots to get some over the counter drops for my eye infection. Re: The Diary Room
I am doing something at work and we need to include the time.
My colleague says it should be: 12.30-2.30pm although I originally had it down as 12:30pm-2:30pm (he says my colon is wrong!).
Does anyone know what is correct?

I am sorry, I am pretty sure your colleague is correct. The way you had it is the way that it would appear on a digital clock.a_person wrote:I am doing something at work and we need to include the time.
