I suppose it depends what you're comparing it with. I haven't tried the Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park (though I plan to this year), but for another, I go to the NT quite a lot, and the other theatres in that area, so it's easy to have a look without making a special trip. And there are plenty of restaurants nearby. Which Xmas markets do you recommend?

Nothing beats the real 5 (!) Christmas markets in Cologne, but the Frankfurt Christmas Market in Birmingham is actually quite good.

There are lots of fabulous markets in Germany and northern Europe but in view of the risk of adverse weather and travel problems (remember Eurostar last December?), I'd rather stick closer to home. I hear Lincoln is good but all the accommodation is booked up and I've done Bath absolutely to death, lovely as it is. So I'm looking for new locations. I hear there's a Xmas market in Winchester... maybe AYBG could advise!

the Frankfurt Market in Birmingham begins tomorrow :) I personally think thats one of the best markets in the country of what we do hold here, but I would love to go to a proper market abroad somewhere :)

The Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park is brilliant but I wouldn't bother with the big wheel, thanks for the link as I'm going to London next week and also for a day in December and I will try out the Cologne market. I'm going to the ones in Manchester on Sunday so I will let you know if they are good, you could have a nostalgic trip from your student days. I will be visiting the Edinburgh ones the following Sunday which look lovely. I got a bit carried away with the brilliant rail deals that Valda posted
The markets in Bremen are lovely and its a beautiful place to visit, I went last year and the tram from the airport to Bremen only takes 10 mins.

why do I do this every time? I arrange to b*y loads of DVD's and boxsets from my mates at Paramount, then find out I already have copies at home. This time, Shutter Island, Roman Polanski Boxset and a Richard Gere Boxset. Such a waste of money

I find nowadays that its not even worth putting DVD's on Ebay, unless they are something rare. I guess I'll just keep them on the shelf or give them away.
