Re: The Diary Room
Nicely done, prettyxcool! I'm sure Beate was well cheered up in hospital with that card.
Well everyone better wrap up properly in this freezing period to avoid Beate's bad luck with the NHS. Keep an eye out on your elderly neighbours too, folks.

Re: The Diary Room
That Get Well Card looks awesome
I saw my large muffin mug on there somewhere aha ;D
Hope Beate gets well in time for xmas, im sure a silly eye infection(or whatever it is!)wont stop her from stuffing her face full of goodies
Snow has arrived in Coventry AND Birmingham
I hate the cold! Sat here in my flanel pjs, fluffy socks and considered putting on my dressing gown and stuffing a water bottle in there aha, who ever said student accomodation was heated lied! Either that or its having no effect.
At homes are pipes have frozen solid :S first time since ive been alive, definitely not good!
The showers broke too, so im glad im here for atleast another 3 weeks, oh my days! 3 weeks till half term
:D
Ooooo heres a question: for my 2nd typography project we have to make a small box which has a letter inside it, but it has to personify a news story recently.
MY chosen story was "Zombie virus bites China Phones", Ive been thinking about having a closed up box with a peephole(to look inside) and I was going to 'zombify' one of my old flip phones as when open it looks like a V(for Virus) and add teeth and blood to it and things, but the inside decor if the part im struggling with, initially i wanted strip lights in the side(going for a tron/legacy effect as it ties in with technology) but the lights are shipping from shanghai...so thats out the window, alternative options ive thought are glow in the dark paint or UV paint, as a last resort id have to just go with a wire incasing and get a small red light to attach inside
SO
my question to you folks is, any suggestions on how i could STILL incorporate a tron design effect? or better yet if you have other suggestions that would help me a ton! :)

Re: The Diary Room
Thanks MrGlass and rawr_xoxo, I enjoyed being creative!
It is -2degrees in London tonight. I took my mum out today and had to give her four layers, and her winter coat!
rawr_xoxo, love your idea. Can you use those battery operated lights for drawers and cupboards - you can get two from the 99p Stores (includes batteries) for 99p, or those one touch lights from Amazon?

Re: The Diary Room
not too sure, it depends on the size of them, the box is VERY small 20x20x20cm, thats what i thought ribbon strips would be ok since theyre only a few mm across and wont take up too much central space
Ive been looking into moulding a zombie head from playdough too, and he could literally be 'biting' the phone :o but there needs to be a letter of some sort incorporated into it, suppose i could do an open mouthed zombie so itd look like a V, I need to do some experimenting really :)
Me being an idiot left all my arty supplies at home so im short on the essentials but thats what poundland is for!

Re: The Diary Room
The ill season has hit me. I've got a sore throat and a headache and I'm really cold
looks like the screening of The Next 3 Days tomorrow is a no-go for me

Member number 33 of the "100 free films in 2011" club. I saw 20, interestingly enough. My more realistic target was to see more free films than TheyCallMeMrGlass. I lost.

A Hot Toddy is usually something like Whisky or Brandy, with a bit ofhot water, Lemon and Honey.weirdfilms33 wrote:What's a hot toddy? lolvalda wrote:Ah poor you, I would have suggested you have a hot toddy, but you are too young to drink.weirdfilms33 wrote:The ill season has hit me. anyway young man, my Mum used to say to me, if you are ill enough to stay at home, you have to stay in bed without TV, Books etc. Nowadays, that will include laptops
