Sorry, I had to laugh! :giggle: It's not really funny, as I slipped and fell again on Monday (in the rain) and now have a matching grazed knee to the other one which has just healed! I actually slipped on those knobbly bits at crossings, which are supposed to stop you from slipping! :wall:

I'm going to try to get there and am allowing extra time but the temperature here is - 10 C which, whilst nothing to those up north or in Scotland, is the coldest I can ever recall seeing. So I hope public transport doesn't seize up completely...

Very sympathetic Beate!!! :giggle:
Beate you could get a job working for the Samaritans with your compassion ;)

I got landed with driving my friends home in the snow last night after my works Christmas party (yet another one) one and a half hours of it as no one could get a taxi !! 8O What a long night and so rubbish to drive in it!

Sorry to hear about your fall but beware they are not to stop you slipping but a disability aid to indicate to people such as those with visual impairments that the road is ahead and therefore a danger.

That was kind of you, and I hope they show their appreciation! It is very stressful driving in these situations, and especially (em, forgive me if I am wrong here...) if you are sober and they are in 'high spirits'. ;) ;)

Oh, is that so, I always wonder why they are there! Someone told me, wrongly then, that they stop you from slipping. Thanks for letting me know! :P But one lovely thing, four hunky men came to my aid. o/

Big beautiful flakes coming down over East London right now. Have to go to the post office in a minute so as nice as it looks, not sure I want to go out!
