Yeah, those lifelong bad habits do need to change! Its not as difficult as you think though, as long as you introduce changes here and there gradually and not too drastic. Make a plan for your schedule in the week. For instance, from this week eat a oat cereal breakfast and an omellete, or scrambled eggs (very quick to make) so sleep a little earlier, get up a little earlier. Reduce sugar in tea. Follow tips I gave a couple of posts ago. Know when you are doing your late shifts of work and plan around it for both your exercises and food menu. The key to achieving your targets is to set your self goals and intermediate goals.raineylb wrote:WOW TheyCallMeMrGlass reading back through this thread you certainly know your stuff, I'd like to lose a half a stone and I know exactly where I'm going wrong but its changing the habits of a lifetime, I never eat breakfast just can face food for at least an hour or 2 after getting up so end up eating a couple of biscuitsto stop the tummy rubbles at break time! Will grab a sandwich if I'm home for lunch, if I have to go out it will be a bar of choc or packet of crisps
on the go, I'll then have a healthy dinner with the kids, but if I'm working the evening I'll be hungry again when I get in so it will be toast & jam or some biscuits before bed
....not to mention the gallons of tea I drink!!
I did a test on my friend the other day who was round my house. I asked him how much sugar he wants in his tea, he said 2. I put in 1. He drank the tea without saying anything about it. I then asked him half way, how was his tea? He replied it was great. He might have just being polite, so I asked him "Its not too sweet is it? You see I might have accidentally put in 3 sugars!". Then he thought about it, and said "well, maybe but...no its really fine, taste good!). Then I told him actually its only 1. And he gave me one hell of a confused expression!
So it really is all in the sub-conscious mind! He momentarily believed I might have put in 3 sugars! I was really glad I did that on my friend, I felt I proved something! I feel like Derren Brown now!
YOU WILL ALL transfer £20 to into my account....Cant wait to see if that works.
Clever!!raineylb wrote:However I don't smoke but have seen some posts on this thread about people trying to give, this may be a little incentive for you based on a 5.70 per pack & a 20 a day habit (halve for 10, double for 40), by giving up you will save approx £39.90 per week, £171 per month, £1,043 per 6 months, £2,081 per year, £20,805 in 10 years & £41,610 in 20 years!!! Now have this pinned on my fridge hoping OH will finally take note!!
