Get four stars from The Independent, The Guardian and What's On Stage. It only gets a quite ridiculous two stars from The Telegraphsuperhero wrote:A flea in her Ear gets 3 stars in the Metro today

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
I should have posted the Penn and Teller: Fool Us free tickets under free audience tickets I suppose. I did go on Saturday night very last minute and just reminds me what an arduous task it is going to a TV show taping. Some people queued at 4pm and at 11:20 they were still taping some reshoots for the mistakes earlier(dont remember the technical term). In that time, one can watch 3 films!
The show itself was quite good and it's worth watching it live, as if you watch the magic tricks on TV, you always think there's some camera illusions. Basically it's like the X-factor of Magic shows, if you can fool Penn and Teller, you get to open his show at Vegas and get and all expenses pa*d for trip. I will write too many spoilers but there were far too many card tricks in general in case they are cheaper. Penn and Teller performed some of their classic tricks, including taking an audience's mobile phone on stage and then hiding it in a sealed box in a secured part of the auditorium; well not just that but inside the box was a dead fish and the mobile was inside the fish!
The rest you just have to watch. 6/10 a low mark just for the sheer pain of sitting there endlessly

You say the winner gets to open "his show" in Vegas. Whose show?superhero wrote:I should have posted the Penn and Teller: Fool Us free tickets under free audience tickets I suppose. Penn and Teller's
I don't know when they are showing this on ITV, it seems quite a big prize for a one-off show

I wondered if you meant their show. It seemed odd for them to be involved otherwise. It will probably be a very short opening slot in the Vegas show.superhero wrote:Penn and Teller's

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
Went to see Cirque du Soleil:Totem tonight, it was hugely enjoyable, but it's more style over substance. There were quite a few people at the opening night like Katherine Jenkins. The crowd seemed to enjoy it, even though there were a few spare seats (maybe people with free tickets not going)
There's a storyline somewhere about evolution and darwinism, but the storyline is abit mish-mash. One moment we get some caveman, next we have some topless guys at a beach. The whole thing ends with a Lion King/Bollywood song/dance, I think you get the idea....
But the set is very effective, especially the raised semi-circle projection to depict the sea/water/beach, there's a guy dressed as a glitterball doing acrobatics. The best was probably a couple on rollerskates doing acrobatics on a large drum (at one point the girl was flying through the air only attached with the guy via a neck brace!)
Style certainly wins over substance in this case....Its the most stylish of the cirque du soleil show's that have visited london. 7.5/10

Saw Flashdance tonight, it was surprisingly busy considering it's closing in a few days. It's about as cheesy as the movie, some great songs, nifty moves. It's not mindblowing, but the cast are really energetic and carry you along and some famoussss songs along the way. 6.5/10
