'Get Into London Theatre' has already been mentioned on 'Theatre/show discounts' but the launch show is free.

Daniel Boys launches Get Into London Theatre

Former Avenue Q star Daniel Boys is to host an afternoon of free theatrical entertainment at the Royal Festival Hall on 4 January to celebrate the start of Get Into London Theatre.

The casts of hit London shows Jersey Boys, Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical, Mamma Mia! and Stomp will join Boys on stage from 14:00 to 17:00 for a series of performances highlighting just some of the 58 shows offering reduced price tickets as part of Get Into London Theatre from 4 January to 18 February.

For the first time this year, the annual ticket promotion is also offering theatregoers the chance to take part in a range of workshops and activities to accompany their theatregoing. Giving a flavour of the activities on offer, the launch event will feature a demonstration of jumping rope by the cast and resident director of Legally Blonde, a workshop on body percussion from Stomp and the chance to learn the finale to Mamma Mia! from dance captain Tim Stanley.

The cast of Edinburgh Festival hit The Fitzrovia Radio Hour – which opens at Trafalgar Studios in January – and Potted Panto duo Dan and Jeff will also be joining in the fun.

Get Into London Theatre, which is now in its 10th year, offers reduced price tickets to nearly 60 top London shows from as little as £10. As well as top musicals, the promotion includes plays, entertainment shows, opera and dance.

Tickets for all shows and activities can be booked through http://www.getintolondontheatre.co.uk or by calling the hotline on 0871 230 1548.

The launch event at the Royal Festival Hall is free and tickets are not required.

What on earth is happening to our planet?

The National Theatre asked four of the country’s most exciting writers to investigate this very big question. The result is a thrilling new piece of theatre which explores the urgent issues surrounding climate change.

Greenland draws together several separate but connected stories into a fast-paced and provocative new play, performed by a brilliant NT company. Have your say and become part of the big conversation with free Talkaoke events after each performance.
