A_person, I don't remember getting your holiday application and I am not quite sure I can release the ticket fairy from her duties for that long!

:bwl: You're so funny! :bwl: Don't worry, we'll find you a replacement fairy! o/

It's funny you mention that. Yesterday my colleague who wasn't allowed to book his holiday was told we have to wait until the new financial year (as he booked it in May) so he had a bitch fit and said, "How comes a_person was allowed to book her holiday in thailand for July and that's been authorised" to which my manager goes, "well it's not authorised yet so it doesn't mean she's going and if she does go, I'll just cut two weeks off of her p*y, simple" to which I responded, "I've given you seven months notice, I also checked to see who had that time off, nobody had that time off when I booked it so effectively I am the first person to book it so I'm f**king going whether you like it or not, whereas so&so booked May off which already had requests before his own."

And the annoying thing is, he actually meant it and now I'm worried as he's very incompetent when it comes to AL. He always messes things up. :( If only my manager was funny and jokey like you!

No he wasn't. He's a right dick like that. He just loves making my temper flair.

Yeh you should. How long is your ML? Did you take 6 months or a year? Definitely go on holiday. You deserve one!

Where would you go anyway?

I was hoping to take 9 months off though may stretch it to a year! May go to France so if anyone knows of any nice places to go to in France, would be appreciated.

Your manager sounds awful!! Makes me not want to return to work.

Everyone always says Paris is a good place. Diane65 is going soon so you could ask her. I honestly wouldn't know as I've never been Paris. :( I've been to some small part of France though. That was nice. Although I can't remember the name. :shifty:

Public sector, what do you expect? I'm looking to move but everywhere I look, everyone is restructuring at the moment that if I were to get a new job, I could be landing myself right in the middle of a supposed advertised permanent job being deleted from it's structure. I wish so bad I could retire. :( I hope they are easy on you when you return to work.

The Loire Valley is fantastic. As is Provence.

If you don't want to travel too far with a small baby, Normandy is both lovely and near. I do like the French seaside and can recommend the Loire Atlantique; in fact, the whole of the western coast. But those areas might be too hot, depending when you go.
