Yes, I can't understand this as I would expect people to jump at the chance to see such a funny performance. The actors in this show are so talented and give 110%, I could watch this performance over and over again and I'm sure I would still appreciate it. I would put A Flea in her Ear in my top 10 Theatre Shows of the moment.

Well it is Jan/Feb, but I don't see why the sudden jump in free tickets for A Flea in her ear and not for something else as well

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
it has been like that for few performances at the Old Vic last year... especially the Tempest and As you Like it.
the Onassis and Krapp's Last Tape's plays released lots of free tickets as well (from the beginning actually).
I think it has nothing to do with the quality of the play but I am guessing it's nicer for the actors to perform in front of full room!
anyway, bring it on free Show tickets!!!!

There are quite a few new shows due to open in the next few months including Betty Blue Eyes, starring Sarah Lancashire, at the Novello where Onassis was on. As it seems to be predominantly the same theatres that offer tickets I am hoping we get some offered for this.

In the case of Onassis, it has everything to do with the quality of the show. It was abysmal.
Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
I accept that it probably wasn't everybody's cup of tea, wasn't overly enthralled myself, but I think you're being a bit harsh saying it was abysmal.mattymc13 wrote:In the case of Onassis, it has everything to do with the quality of the show. It was abysmal.

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
i did not think it was as bad as you said... and they started offering tickets from the very beginning, so I am really not sure quality was a factor here

I thought it was pretty bad, the staging was beautiful but the rest of the story was very strangely written and the female leads were pretty poor.Timbo wrote:I accept that it probably wasn't everybody's cup of tea, wasn't overly enthralled myself, but I think you're being a bit harsh saying it was abysmal.mattymc13 wrote:In the case of Onassis, it has everything to do with the quality of the show. Greenland : a superbrief review
Like cinema's movie Babel, its 'hyperlink' theatre, with several story threads running simultaneously. dull in parts, and a bit preachy, but generally the good parts made up for it and its curiously interesting overall.
watch out for the special effects! they really are 3D lol.
