HENDRICK'S Refined Courtship Clinic pops-up this Valentines in Seven Dials, Covent Garden

HENDRICK'S Refined Courtship Clinic – the free-to-use clinic – offers direction on principles and customs from bygone eras - while lavish Valentine's gifting is in decline, economical good grace and manners are seen as increasingly attractive qualities.

Dr Humphrey SixWivs and Mrs Isabella Forlornicate are back! For the second year running we will be hostng the HENDRICK'S Refined Courtship Clinic in the heart of London's red-light district - a beacon of promise amongst the frightfully explicit protrusions of the area. Unusually, the sessions commence with a voluntary intake of HENDRICK'S Gin & Tonic, complete with restorative cucumber garnish. After assessment, treatments covers aspects from polite body language to acceptable topics of conversation, courtship to reading signals from a lady's fan movements.

Open to the public from Thursday 10th February - Monday 14th February located at Seven Dials, 51 Neal St, Covent Garden, WC2H.

Other Criteria have invited eight of their artists to name a single book that has influenced their work, shaped their thinking or encouraged them to create.

The artists involved in this collectible series include Damien Hirst, Itai Doron, Michael Joo, Sue Webster, Rachel Howard, John Isaacs, Josh Cheuse and Olivier Garbay. The literary findings are diverse, from poetry and music to celebrity and feminism, each book has been carefully selected to display something of the artist’s way of thinking or viewpoint on the world.

Sue Webster discusses her choice of feminist tract, S.C.U.M Manifesto, ‘I gave this book as a present to a boyfriend of mine whilst at Art School, it obviously struck a nerve with him as he dumped me not long afterwards for a blonde, I dunno, I thought it was a really cool present being an original first edition and pretty damn hard to find, I must have knew it was over, I kind of induced it.’

These rare and wonderful publications will be available as limited editions, packaged in a beautiful free-standing slipcase, stamped and signed by the respective artist. This is a unique opportunity to acquire some of the most inspiring stories, poems and photographs.

Please join us for the launch on Thursday 10th February, 6-8pm at our Hinde Street shop. RSVP by emailing rsvp@othercriteria.com
