You don't need to be diagnosed with anything. Has he not visited the doctor about this? They can confirm in writing that he has reported this which then doesn't just make it look like an excuse but rather a valid reason.

I am thinking of sending a copy of all the official appointment letters from the Memory Service.

i can't do without my car, i love it. i love driving. i too live near a train station and buses, but neither of those come to me when i want them, neither of them stop me getting soaking wet waiting for them and neither of them allow me to sing at the top of my lungs whilst listening to my ipod! aslo neither of them guarantee me somewhere comfy to sit and somewhere to put all my bags of shopping, or indeed my 2 cats should i need to take them out.

i hate public transport, it's the reason i learned to drive in the 1st place. i drive all over the place to see bands and friends, much cheaper in the long run than trains, and quicker than buses.

if you don't need a car then sure i can see a reason not to have one, but i use mine often! at least 80% of the time i go out in fact.

my insurance went up by £40. and you've just reminded me i have a free £10 tesco gift voucher somewhere "safe" from my insurance.

I hate driving purely because of idiots. Give me a motorway and I love driving (not a traffic-ee motorway though). I too hate station and buses but unfortunately for me, I live in an area where it is impossible to get parking which forces me to use public transport as I can't guarantee I will get nearby parking. There's no point driving somewhere to park 2 miles away form the location - might as well use public transport imo.

I p*y to park in the bay right outside my house and that alone costs me well over a £100.00. To park anywhere else costs me £3.50 an hour unless I'm willing to fork out another £100.00 and even then, that only covers a limited area.

I also live very close to the Congestion Charge which is another reason why I limit where I drive too...

It counts as proof that she wasn't falsifying the reason. Doesn't mean they'll let her off but at least it's been noted.

My colleague said he was summoned to court and had to p*y a fine and received penalty points with it. Not sure why they are summoning you to court anyway. What a waste of money! They should just send a flippin' reminder and ask him to visit with the licence and then add it on. All this court business sounds rubbish...

yeah that all makes sense. but i kind of chose where i was going to live based on the fact i had a garage with the flat to avoid those pesky parking charges. i like the freedom driving has too i guess. if i want to go somewhere at 2am, say tesco, then i can, and i'm safe. also if i decide to go to manchester tomorrow rather than having known about it 6 weeks in advance i'm not going to p*y £70 more to get there. i guess it depends on your lifestyle, but i'm a kind of run off here and there kind of person.
