Re: Weight Watchers
Now a weight watchers topic is not really the kind thread I thought I would find myself visiting. I can usually avoid the unhealthy, pound piling snacks. Well apart from when my daughters get easter eggs in April and at Christmas when the quality streets are in abundance. Oh and when our exchange students bring us gifts of Swiss chocolate and... okay so I'm not very good at avoiding unhealthy, pound piling snacks but now I am seeing all these free films its even worse. Why oh why do I feel I have to munch my way through m&m's, doritos and such stuff when watching a film? Why?
Is anyone else having the same problem? Or am I the only greedy guts with such a lack of will power.

Re: Weight Watchers
I lost about 52lbs in 2009, 2010 was stressful and this year just as bad so far and my motivation has all but gone. also have a damaged back and knee which isn't helping matters. have put on over a stone now for sure, my clothes don't fit very well at all, some not at all. very disappointing
maybe your motivation here will rub off on me and i can get back to it.
1st thing to go is alcohol. only allowed once a month from now on in.

Gosh that is fantastic! Don't beat yourself up about gaining, 14lbs isn't that bad especially of you have problems going on and can't work out.aruif wrote:I lost about 52lbs in 2009, 2010 was stressful and this year just as bad so far and my motivation has all but gone. also have a damaged back and knee which isn't helping matters. have put on over a stone now for sure, my clothes don't fit very well at all, some not at all. very disappointing![]()

I gained all that I lost in 2009 purely by being greedy. But I@m back on track and its a slow road but worth it.

Re: Weight Watchers
I'm going to contribute to this thread despite the fact I use Slimming World rather than Weight Watchers (*boo*hiss*).
I lost about 5 and a half stone in about 9 months (in 2009) which was amazing at the time but has been an uphill struggle ever since. I have gained back about 2 stone and I find it difficultt to motivate myself to get back to the weight I was. I go to the gym twice a week (would go more but don't have the time) and try to eat healthy (but sometimes I'm in a rush so just grab what I can).
I want to lose that weight again! I need your support guys!

Re: Weight Watchers
i want to pick up my food diary again, that helped me see that i could have lots of treats still as long as the rest of the time i ate well.
today is another day where i've managed a reasonable lunch but snacked on left over xmas chocolate and some jaffa cakes! gah.
i'm just feeling lazy right now too. so lazy i cba to even eat half the time. i'm not sleeping very well which is just adding to the lethargy. nothing is working for me right now. gahhhhh.
too scared to weigh myself in case it's more like 28lbs not 14! :O

Re: Weight Watchers
What a brilliant achievement, we are here for you. I don't actually know if anyone on here is on the weight watchers programme, I for one have never been to a slimming club in my life but wanted to lose 20lbs which I had gained after increasing my hours at work to 42hours plus a week so didn't have as much free time for exercising as I used to and also going out for too many meals, 8lbs to gofunthing29 wrote:I'm going to contribute to this thread despite the fact I use Slimming World rather than Weight Watchers (*boo*hiss*).![]()

Re: Weight Watchers
I'm not with Weight Watchers but is it OK if I join too?
Like aruif, I lost a lot of weight in 2008 (68lbs). I managed too keep it off for about 18 months. Unfortunately over the last year & a bit, I've had some serious problems with a colleague (now mostly resolved). Sorry, I know it sounds like I'm making excuses but it resulted in a lot of stress & comfort eating and now I'm back to square 1.
Last week a new NHS weight loss initiative started up in my workplace, so I went along. I don't much like their diet suggestions but I think for the 6 weeks it runs it will be helpful to have the regular weigh-ins. Its always a bit of an incentive when someone else is checking on you.
For the same reason I think it would be good to check in here now & again with some like-minded FMUKers to help me get that weight off again, and keep it off this time.
Good luck to everyone!

Re: Weight Watchers
Wow what a brilliant weight loss and we are delighted to welcome you to the thread. That must be horrible to work with someone like that I would be mortified if I thought that I was making someones life a misery and I would hope that people would tell me. We all deal with stress in different ways and if comfort eating is your way of dealing with stress thats your coping mechanism so don't beat yourself up about it, you're among friends here so welcome to the thread.large marge wrote:I'm not with Weight Watchers but is it OK if I join too?

Re: Weight Watchers
I'm glad you have got your issues resolved with your colleague, there is nothing worse than an atmosphere at work and being forced into company you really don't like. That sounds like a great incentive from the NHS. We were talking about getting some scales and having a weigh in at work. We'd all put in a few quid each week then the biggest loser would get a prize at the end. didn't go down too well with everyone though.Diane65 wrote:Wow what a brilliant weight loss and we are delighted to welcome you to the thread. I've fell off the wagon recently and am thinking about that cabbage soup diet again to kick start my efforts.
