That would be Galen, pronounced gay-len. I also watched that series.
Well you know what kids are like, they got their own pronunciation and it stuck for life. I have been tempted b*y the series but wonder if it will be as good as I remembered it?
Valda, I have no idea what Burton was thinking, it didn't even had any of his normal wacky signature in the film. He should have kept his stinking paws of it, that damn dirty ape.

I loved the original films and tv series as a kid, and really wish they would leave it alone. Burton's film was diabolical indeed!
And Aldo is the character I always remember, thanks to the chain of shoe shops by the same name... always makes me chuckle.

i've only just realised thats how you pronounce the name of the famous roman surgeon the ape is named after. I've been saying all this time 'Gar-len'.
So many roman names in the Apes films. i bet old Caesar wouldnt be thrilled to know he had an ape named after him (and a tin of dog food, as Eddie Izzard rightly points out).
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

I too watched the series as a child, my dad loved it more so than me.

My only beef with this film is the apparent lack of weapons.. All those apes jumping around America and no one shoots at them!?

New trailer, getting the tone of this and its looking pretty damn good!

But this definitely confirms a non continuity of the classic Ape films which had a circular evolutioln involving time a travel loop. This simply has a different beginning but its a good one. I cant help thinking they dont make actors like Heston and Roddy Mcdowell anymore, though!

I saw the trailer of this before X-Men First Class and for a short moment, I had thought the trailer was the start of X-Men First Class, when it showed a government facility and then it said something along the lines of experimenting with people and all that hair, I thought Wolverine was about to pop out!

I also saw the trailer before Xmen on Tuesday, I was surprised since we dont usually get trailers! All I can say is the CGI looks amazing for the Apes.
Shadowhunters: Looking better in black than the widows of our enemies since 1234.
I am, after all, what you made me.
