I have a feeling that you may miss the point of distributors holding free screenings. Even so, there really aren't so many more dates for this film than there are for others.kotoranka wrote:All these free previews of it make me wonder if it's actually going to be any good. I get a bit wary of so many offerings of the same film but hey, it's a free ticket.

102 Different free films seen in 2010 plus 2 repeat viewings and a few tv show screenings... not too shabby. Thanks to everyone for their contributions here.

You don't read the rules either, because it's clearly stated there that Time Out is a comp.

Re: Win Win
Just seen this at Wandsworth. I wasn't sure what to expect and nor was I keen on going but glad I did.
It was heartwarming and funny with a few laugh out moments. I thought the actor who played Kyle was great, typical teenager.

Re: Win Win
I was underwhelmed by this. It wasn't as funny or clever as I was expecting. I was hoping for a film up to the standard of Juno with a witty script and ironic dialogue but this was so blah. The story and characters were bland and seemed to drag in the middle. The actor playing Kyle only had one expression and had a vacant looked throughout the whole film. Competent work from Paul Giamatti but nothing special. Disappointing.

Re: Win Win
Trocadero, oh sorry Shaftesbury Avenue, were doing ID checks, I couldn't even remember if it was in my name but luckily it was. the film was heartwarming with a few laugh out loud moments. I don't relate to wrestling so that really bored me. Poor kids having to dress in baggy lycra and wrestle each other. Most odd
Bobby Canavale was in this ( he was in The Station Agent, which the director had directed a few years ago - check it out, its great) Anyway he gives another good performance as did all the cast 7/10
Oh some people in front of us started having an argument
from what I heard, there were 2 people talking away and another one leant over and told them to stop. there was a bit of a whispered confrontation where they were told to go outside if they want to talk hehe. Good on that woman, doing what I wouldn't have dared

Re: Win Win
Lots of seats left in the cinema and two more when they walked out.I hung on hoping for better things and it did get a little better half way through with a few laughs.Thought Kyles voice a little boring and the storyline a little pointless.Suppose it was an o.k. kind of film.

Re: Win Win
I liked this kept pace well and loved the friend Terry and the kid really was a good kid you could really feel for him. And I agree with valda about the lycra wrestling suits but that's not really the film just never seen any wrestling before.

Re: Win Win
Trocadero Cineworld was completely full. In fact several people circled the room in the dark (walking past the screen after it had started!) trying to get into the one or two still empty seats that were "reserved" for people who hadn't bothered to show up on time...
I had really low expectations for the movie and while it wasn't anything genius it wasn't completely rubbish either. There were a few nice and/or funny moments (though I did not find it as funny as others who laughed at moments I just went "really?") when I thought the movie was really going to pick up, but sadly that never happened. 6/10

Re: Win Win
I enjoyed this. All the actors did their thing well, the story was ok even though it reminded me of The Blind Side and there were some good laughs.
Horrible strict ID-checker on the door (though I understand some quick-witted patrons managed to talk their way in) but lovely to meet Valda and say hello to Kaybeelon and ejwrank.
