its a lot better if you dont read up on it before you go to see it. The plot then becomes a freakish twist to what you up to then think is another Woody Allen ode to failed relationships.

I didn't know anything about it when I went to see it, didn't even know it was a WA film, just knew that OW was in it and it was in paris which was good enough for a look in.

I enjoyed this and it was refreshing to see both Michael Sheen and Owen Wilson doing something a little different.

I'm not a Woody Allen fan and although I did find Owen Wilson's style of delivery a little grating at first, I did enjoy this film hugely.

I loved all the cameos but must research some of the people mentioned.
I think I would've hit Sheen's character though lol

Didnt realise it before this movie, but Rachel McA is good at playing an annoying selfish bitch lol. She really is horrible in this movie, dont know why they got together at all.

Owens character isnt exactly an angel - earings! no way!

Had a long gap between an LFF film and the We Need to Talk About Kevin screening, so I decided to catch up with this.
I really enjoyed it. Similar to Purple Rose of Cairo in it's magical unexplained plot device (and the fact that the lead male is named Gil) and definitely Woody Allen's best in years (I haven't seen Vicki Christina Barcelona though which was fairly well received a few years ago).
Owen Wilson was very good as the Woody substitute and the supporting cast were wonderful (even Carla Bruni didn't embarrass herself). Especially enjoyed Alison Pill as Zelda Fitzgerald, Michael Sheen as the pompous know-it-all Paul and Adrien Brody as a larger than life Dali. Also what sane man wouldn't fall in love with Marion Cotillard.
It may slightly overdo the 'oh look here's another famous person' bit a little, but overall I thought it was a fun, light-hearted film that didn't outstay it's welcome.

Adrien really was fab as DAlii!

And I recognised Alison Pill from her tempestuous Queen Matilda in Pillars of the Earth. Shes good at those roles.
