That was a very long 2 hours, I did quite like it and sort of got the mental illness journey. Can't think of much more to say. 6/10

Good film, but never quite grabbed me. Also a little disappointed to discover the song at the end wasn't be Brian Fallon of The Gaslight Anthem as it sounded just like him. Going to check out whoever did it...

Definately too long by far. I made the mistake of going and sitting at the back where the talkers and munchers were, honestly I felt like ripping the popcorn boxes out of their hands and tipping it out! They were also laughing when its not a comedy and there is nothing funny about gasmasks and bed accidents
Anyway I ended up getting really distracted by it all and not focusing on the film. I thought it was beautifuly shot and performed, I've only seen MIchael Shannon in Boardwalk Empire and he was so good in this. He's non a very emotive actor but you can track his worry and pain as the film goes on. Jessica Chastain was great as well, Idon't remember seeing her in anything although I konw I have
Some of the scenes I don't think were necessary and were going down the M Night Shyamalan route.

As to the end
I'm still a bit confused. Did he make them stay in the bunker and they only left in a dream? Or was the fact that his wife was seeing the oily rain mean that he was right all along, and Armageddon was coming? For me, it should have ended when he went to open the doors
8/10
Was it just me who thougth maybe he felt in some way responsible for his daughter going deaf? I found it interesting that they mentioned she wasn't always deaf but never mentioned how it happened. Maybe there was an incident and he felt responsible for it, hence his world collapsing? Just a theory.
I was at a packed croydon cinema!

I also felt that the film was too long though necessary to explain the illness. Very well acted and emotional so did feel for him a few times.

Quite possible as a major shock can trigger all sorts of health issues.

Vue Islington very packed. Annoying noisy people to left and right which proved to be very distracting in such a quiet film. Not sure I liked the end twist - it kind of negated everything that had gone on before. Otherwise, OH and I really liked this, the performances were strong, and Curtis' decent into madness was unsettling.

The lights came on 15 minutes before the end of the film which was even more distracting as it provoked the noisy people to be even noisier. After the film was over, the FMUK delegation (ejwrank, PXC and myself) went to complain to the Duty Manager, who, though a pleasant person, didn't really do much and told us to complain online as she couldn't get through to Sky (no wonder at that time of night). Right, so complaints to Sky and Vue are being written. And twitter will be utilised too.

7.5/10 as it was 15 minutes too long.
It was when Curtis and Samantha were saying they still do little things to be quiet when their daughter was sleeping so it made it sound like she used to be ok, but they were adjusting to the new situation.
