6/10 I'm afraid. Spectacular claymation with CGI cheating but a I am tired of the relentless modern naked gun style references, I just dont seem to enjoy that sort of thing anymore these days. But what a great audience, I do love the vibe and regardless of what I think of some parts of the film, I love the audience enthusiam and sometimes I am very jealous of not getting the fun they are getting out of it. Thanks so much to Jeancomp for the opportunity to see this. I think thats my max allowed words for this tweet. This is twitter isnt it? They said we can tweet...

2nd tweet. Always a pleasure to to also meet Beate, OH, Jeancomp, ejwrank and Tilly for the first time!

I didn't go in with high expectations but I still found this disappointing. I wouldn't think most kiddies would find it very entertaining so I wonder who they're targeting with it.

Thank you, jeancomp, for allowing us to float in our your coattails and for courageously bringing drinks up to Mr Glass and me. Lovely to see so many FMUKers in the throngs of people.

Oh yes, how rude of me, thank you Jeancomp for the drink!

I also dont think the film is a great role model for kids either with the shocking scenes of sword stabbings (complete with sound of sword going into flesh). The protagonists pirates are also murderous (eg, using the plank on innocents etc). Its all fun for the adults but just not sure about the little kiddies.

Brian Blessed is an abundance of energy though, isnt he? What please me to no end was his references to Flash Gordon as if acknowledging his iconic status from that film and quite rightly so! Flash Gordon is one of my favourite guilty pleasures that I would never tire of watching. But the way he announced the film to be begin, in that incredible booming voice of his, you would think it was the opening ceremony of 2012 Olympics!

I adore the ridiculous little Pirates! books - I very much recommend picking them up for a few quid apiece. Doesn't sound like they necessarily translated to screen perfectly, though.

I liked this but it is not as clever as Arthur Christmas. Too many of the characters got too little screen time. There were some nice jokes but some of them were a bit obvious, and none of the memorable. I did enjoy spotting all the amusing little details in the background. Nice voice work from the British cast but I expected better from the studio behind Arthur Christmas. The 3D was also totally pointless and was barely noticeable. 7/10.

I thought the highlight of the film was meeting Tilly for the first time and I was impressed that she managed to recognise me given that there were so many hundreds of people in the foyer: in fact that was the most impressive thing of the night!

Didn't know about the free bar, am not sure I would have had the energy to clamour through the crowds. But it explains why I seemed to be surrounded by drunken adults.

I found the film rather dull and boring. Not really my cup of tea. Like Celini I watched most of it without the 3D glasses on.

Maybe a generous 5/10 for me.
