What do the critics know??
At the premiere, everyone enjoyed it and there was loud laughter all round. I think it is more suited to TV, than the big screen.

Ambience adds so much that it's really difficult to tell, at a special event, how the same film might play at a "normal" screening. I suppose if a film isn't that good, you're better off seeing it a packed and enthusiastic Q & A or similar; unfortunately, you don't usually have the choice. I'm thinking back to seeing Celeste And Jesse Forever at the LFF. It went down really well, but only a little later, at the preview stage, most people here weren't that impressed.

The movie only made £602 about the box office, that's "normal" public

oh dear! Perhaps, "normal" people are more willing to p*y for blockbusters these days with lots of special effects, I suppose.

The feel good factor often helps, I supposed. A lot of people at the premiere, had been drinking beforehand, and I was on the upper circle with all the people involved in the production, so they may have been bias!

Unfortunately, I think that much of the time, "normal" means teenage, so far as distributors and studios are concerned. You have only to look at multiplex schedules to see that, especially in half-term week!

OMG!!!
The film wasn’t screened for press and is now confined to a handful of Odeon Senior Screen matinees, cheap and inoffensive screenings beloved of the nominally housebound and mentally ill-at-ease.

Wow, that's the meanest thing I've read in a while! Where's the quote from?
